If it’s love just feel it,
And if this life will see it,
This is no time to be alone, alone yeah
I won’t let you go.~ James Morrison

{Clary’s POV}
When I find him, he’s surrounded by pigeons and rubbing his cold hands together, a cigarette hanging skilfully form the corner of his mouth. He sees me coming and his blue eyes widen as he kicks unthreateningly at some birds to clear a path for me.
“I was wondering when you’d turn up, I was starting to think you’d skipped town.” He mocks me and takes my coffee straight from my hands when I sit down.
“Not yet Herondale.” He nods, screwing up his face when the liquid hits his tongue and flicks ash onto the ground “Yet being the key word, are you all packed?” I think of my room, empty apart from various boxes and a bed, a tomb of my current/old life.
“Yep, I leave tomorrow morning.” I smile even if I don’t mean it, but William doesn’t even attempt to return it. When he looks at the ground, at the birds pecking at the bin beside him on the bench in the park I know he’s trying not to get upset.
“I’m going to miss you you know.” He admits and hands me back my cup. Will doesn’t need to worry, even if he wasn’t loved by everyone who met him, he made friends easily, he would forget all about me in no time. The Herondale boys however were irreplaceable and it was even harder to forget about them, like I even wanted to anyway. “I bet I’ll miss you more.” I smirk making him smirk too and flick his cigarette into the bin do he can hold his hand out to me “Deal, fifty bucks.” He desperately wants me to shake on it and so I entertain him, smiling that he feels I’m memorable enough to miss.
“Have you made up with Jem?” I ask when he slips his cold hand into his pocket. “Yeah actually, I’m seeing him in about an hour.”
“Busy guy.” I joke, and he chuckles “What can I say? Everyone wants a piece of this.” Smug bastard.
“You should make it right with Jace too, you’re both so much alike and being friends with your cousin isn’t as bad as you think.” Before I left, I had to make sure they were at least going to try being friends, Jace would need one when I left. The black-haired beauty thinks about it for a second before nodding “Sure, for you I’ll try. He’s not exactly a terrible person.” A smile haunts his face and I know it’s the best I’ll get.
“Y’know Clary just because you leave doesn’t mean you don’t belong here. When I left Wales and then England, I thought that somehow that meant they weren’t my home but parts of you remain in the places that mean the most to you. You can take the boy out of Wales, but you can never take Wales out of the boy.” He turns to me, so full of wisdom like a chiselled sexy Gandalf.
“A large part of you will stay right here with us, with me.” He isn’t surprised when I wrap my arms around him, he just holds me against him and I look out across this glorious park and hope to god that’s true.
***“Isabelle, is this really all necessary?” I peer around at all the items of clothing she’s gifted me from her wardrobe around her room “You’re going to be the most fashionable girl there.” Is all she says, and I almost laugh at how ridiculous she’s being. When she emerges with her favourite top, I nearly hit her.
“No Izzy, no way. I’m not taking that from you.”
“Hush.” She whips me lightly with the sparkly black material “It always looked better on you anyway.” She lies but you don’t argue with her and so I gently take it from her, clutching it to my chest. She stares at me awkwardly like I’ve already been gone for years “Don’t get a new best friend.” This time I do laugh “As if Isabelle, how will I ever find another person as fabulous as you are?”
