DEAR JACK,
Pleasing those I love had came with a cost.
Remember, that this came with the pain and loss.
Only now, the loss is mine,
Unfortunately, she caused me to cross a line.
Death awaits as it calls us back.

BOBBY SINGER WAS NOT EAGER TO ALLOW JACK MUCH MORE TIME AT CAMP. Discussing it with Mary, he had made it clear that having Rose around was an issue for those at camp, but if they had discovered what Jack truly was, it was destined for the people to live in more fear than they already do. It had been a lot for Mary to consider. The camp had been a safe zone for them to hide out, but if it had kept many more people safe to leave, she felt that was the right thing to do.

While making her way around camp to search for the two, she had stumbled across Constance. Trying her best to seem unannoyed with her presence, Mary faked a smile as she buried her hands in her pockets. "Anything I can do for you, Constance?"

A laugh had escaped from her lips as she glanced rather quickly around the camp. "I've been searching all morning... Rose, she didn't leave did she?"

"She's been off with Jack. I'm sure they're just getting a feel for the place." Mary had swallowed hard as she contemplated her next few thoughts. Constance had been a mother just as she had, but she had felt that it was all too strange for her to try and connect with Rose. "Are you sure this thing with Rose... that it's the best for her?"

Unable to consider why Mary would wonder such a thing, she had shook her head in confusion. "She needs a mother."

Giving a small shrug, Mary had found herself smiling. "She has me. And her grandmother, Rowena, she was like a mother to her."

A fire had sparked in Constance's eyes as she stood taller. "I am her blood. You and that whore of a grandmother don't deserve her. She needs someone right for her."

Mary had taken a step back in surprise. The conversation had not turned for the best and now she had understood why Bobby had felt quite uneasy around the woman. Attempting a smile, Mary had given a quick and meaningless apology as she backed away. Still, Constance had her eyes locked in on her as Mary had headed down a different path to find Rose first.

There was an obvious knot in Mary's stomach as she had searched for the two she arrived with. Constance's anger towards her had felt as a sign that the three should leave sooner than she had thought.
