"Doctor Adam"

After performing an x-ray scan and a CT on Takashi, Adam looks at the results with the other doctors. "Yeah, he has lung cancer." One doctor named Romelle whispered to the group. Adam sadly nods, "Yeah...and the cancer has developed greatly too...it looks like he will have a couple months to live." Adam coughs out the truth. Romelle sighs, "This why I don't like this job." Adam turns the picture over and frowns, "I don't like it either. I'm trying to look for a cure but I'm getting nowhere in my research." Romelle lifts Adam's head up, "Hey, you're doing your absolute best Adam. I know you will find it one day, you're one of my favorite gay doctor." Adam cracks a smile then looks away, "Stop it Romelle." Adam jokingly says.

"Doctor Adam, his sputum results came in. You may want to look at this." A nurse came rushing in with the picture of the results. Adam looks at the picture and frowns "It's confirmed now that he certainly has cancer. You can even see the cells in his picture." He shows Romelle and she sighs. "Okay...we have to tell him now." Adam nods and goes up to Shiro's hospital bed.

"Hey? Are you awake buddy?" Adam asks Shiro. Shortly after, his eyes slowly pry open. Shiro sits up on his bed and attempts to remove his breathing mask. "Wait, let me help you." Adam comes closer to remove his mask and sets it down. "What happened? Why am I in the hospital?" Shiro asks the doctors. They grew quiet and waits for Adam to answer.

Adam clears his throat and clenches on his clipboard, "Well, hi I'm Doctor Adam, and you're here because you passed out because of the lack of blood in your body." Shiro sighs, "Oh..I've been coughing hard like that for as long as I remember and that never happened. I thought I was fine." Adam sighs, "And he didn't think to go to the doctor..? This is so sad..." Adam pulls up a chair and sits by Shiro. "Well, I'm going to ask you a few questions to help me figure out what's going on with you."

Shiro nods and focuses on Adam. "I'm lucky to have such a hot doctor as him. It won't be hard to keep my focus at all. He's most likely straight though, but that doesn't matter."

Adam clicks his pen and moves on to the first question, "Are you currently a smoker?" Shiro blushes awkwardly, "Yeah...I'm trying to quit though." Adam writes down the response then follows the question up, "What do you smoke?" Shiro sighs, "Uh..cigarettes mostly, occasionally weed if I get my hands on it. I vaped one time, but it was only one blow because I didn't really like it." Adam nods and writes it down, "Why do you smoke?..if that's not too personal."

Shiro sighs and rubs his eyes, "Um..no it's fine Doctor." "I have to say why anyway because I'm not trying to fuck myself up again." Shiro takes a deep breath before he starts, "Right now I have 5 kids and it's really stressing me out. I recently took two kids into my care because of their dead beat father didn't want to take care of his own kids. And it's the oldest one who makes me so stressed out. He constantly challenges me and it makes me mad. I want to refrain from beating him because I don't want to trigger my other kids or him so I just smoke to ease away the pain. Also before that, I enjoyed smoking it was relaxing to me, but since I took the oldest into care I've been smoking way more than I ever had."

"Matthew..." Adam mumbled to himself but loud enough for Shiro to hear. "What?! How did you know his name?" Shiro gasps. "Oh I met him earlier...it was like the other kids don't like him either." Adam confesses. Shiro groans, "I hope my kids are being good or I'm not taking them out for ice cream after this." Adam smirks, "You're a very nice dad to them, my dad would never get me ice cream like that." Shiro chuckles, "Ah really? Maybe you can get ice cream with us afterwards, on me." Adam's face beamed up, "Well ice cream do sound really good at th-"
"-Ahem, Doctor Adam stay on topic." One of the MDs told him. Adam quickly looks back to his clipboard, "Oh um yeah, anyways.."

Adam locates the next question then keeps his eye on Shiro, "Okay Takashi, have you experienced any chest pain? Particularly after you smoke?" Shiro slowly nods, "Yeah especially on my right side." Shiro holds his right chest to show Adam where he's talking about. Adam nods and writes that down.

Adam next does a slow sigh to calm himself down. "I hate to break this to you...because I know we just met you're a lovely guy with good intentions for everyone and yourself...but you have lung cancer and the cancer progressed so much that it looks like you'll have only a couple months to live." Shiro's smile turn into a hard frown. "What...I can't have that..I have 5 kids to take care of. They all lost their parents once..they can't go through that again." Adam takes off his glasses to wipe his tears, "I'm so sorry.."

Shiro sighs, "And another thing. Don't you dare tell anybody especially my children about my diagnosis. It'll just break their heart." Adam looks at him, "That's not right but...fine I will." "Good."
