Chapter 13

      We were about a day away from entering the state of Washington. I didn’t know what to expect when we got there. This was rogue territory so to say. Most rogues came to this place, some wonder around the united States, and they normally ended up dead. We hardly stopped for anything, food and bathroom mostly, Vanessa was sleeping in the back of the car. I got maybe a few hours a sleep since we left. I felt my phone buzz in my pocket, I pulled it out quickly.

“Hello,” I spoke into the mouth piece.

“Were going to stop a hotel.” Davian’s voice came through the speaker.

“Alright.” I told him with a slight yawn to my voice, I knew that I had bags under my eyes from lack of sleep. The line went dead, placing the phone in my lap, I reached back and shook Vanessa gently.

“Get up, were going to be stopping at a hotel.” I told her, my voice was louder making sure that she heard me. I heard her groan in respond, checking the rear view mirror I watched her get into a sitting position, before she moved back to the front seat.

“Where are we?” Her voice was groggy. Vanessa and me haven’t talked about what I told her, after I told her everything, she just nodded her head to me. Nothing was said anything more.

“I don’t know.” I told her honestly, all I knew was that I had to follow Davian, he knew how to get there. I trusted him to get us there. Davian’s turned on his turn signal at the next exit. Ten minutes later we were pulling into the parking lot of a Best Western. Parking the car next to Davian’s. Climbing out I grabbed one of the backpacks. Davian and Tessa were already inside, I was hoping that he would get us two different rooms.

      Walking around to her side, I grabbed her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze, I lead her into the building, holding the door open for her. I was hoping that I was able to talk to her. Davian walked over to me handing a room key to me.

“Two different rooms.” He eyed me up, he must have known what I was thinking for he just wanted alone time with Tessa….I figured it was mostly the second one.

“Ready to go up to our room?” I asked Vanessa, she was looking around the lobby, giving her head a slight shake, I lead her to the elevator, we were staying on the 3rd floor room 35. It took a couple minutes to find the room.

      There was a king size bed in the middle of the room, sliding glass door leading out to a balcony. There was a flat screen TV hanging on the wall, a closet, bathroom. And a half size kitchen, and there was a table and chairs. There was a dresser and a small desk against the wall. Taking the bag she was carrying I sat it down on top of the dresser along with mine.

“I’m sorry.” I told her again, it was all my fault she was in this situation, my fault that she was now being hunted down by royal guards. She sat down on the bed, looking at me.

“Don’t be.” Her voice was barely a whisper. “I don’t blame you for killing the king. He was an asshole. He killed his own brother to get the king spot and abused his power.” Her voice was stronger when she spoke this time. I felt my face go into shock at her words.

“Then why haven’t you told me earlier?” I asked her shock coated my voice.

“I don’t know.” She got up from the bed, closing the distance between us. Wrapping her arms around my neck, she pulled me down into a kiss. It was gentle and soft. Grabbing her waist I pulled her against my body, deepening the kiss. I heard her moan when I slipped my tongue into her mouth. She tried to pull me to the bed, I followed willingly. I hovered over her, not breaking the kiss. She pulled away first breathing heavy. My hands found there way under her shirt. I quickly pulled my hands out from under her shirt.
