spring
When I started to feel
I saw flowers.
Shy, delicate things.
A small bundle-
of baby blue daisies.
Naive butterflies
flitter
chant her name.
I smile and grin
the world is exciting
summer
When I loved
I saw flowers.
Bold, beautiful thoughts.
A field-
of beaming yellow sunflowers.
Hopeful jays
soar
sing my dreams.
I sing and dance
the world is wonderful
autumn
When I understood
I saw flowers.
Raw and relentless.
A haunting sea-
of blood stained roses.
Jeering vultures
circle
mock my love.
I stumble and fall
the world is dark
winter
"it was never to be"
