Don't panic, don't stress. Everything is fine. Mr. Jo will realize something is wrong if we don't turn up soon. They will find us.
I chanted these in my head over and over again, trying to reassure myself. It wasn't too helpful.
Getting off from the chair, I made my way towards the door where Jayden seemed to be stuck and couldn't move away from.
"Lemme check." I said calmly, I was too calm that it scared myself. Inside a turmoil was raging on.
Jayden obediently moved away and let me check the lock. It was indeed locked.
Oh no, I started to panic.
"Don't panic, they will soon come find us." Jayden assured me, sounding confident. Oddly, I felt a little better and a little confidence was restored in me that someone would come and find us.
"Then what do we do now?" I asked biting my lip as the thought of being stuck with Jayden in an enclosed room, alone had me feeling fuzzy and nervous.
Don't dwell on unnecessary thoughts. I scolded myself whose thoughts were in the gutter and irrational when it was about Jayden.
"We wait." Jayden sat down on the floor, his back pressed on the door. When he realised I didn't do the same, he looked up at me and patted the empty space beside him.
I didn't have any master plan either to escape so I sat down on the space he had patted.
Our arms brushed and we both sat in silence, the dusty room feeling smaller with every passing minute.
Then a thought struck me. It felt like a lightning struck on me.
I felt my phone on my pocket.
How could I forget about my phone?
"Oh!" I clapped my hands in happiness. I was going to be free.
"What?" Jayden seemed surprise by my sudden action.
"Our phone." I exclaimed showing him my mega watt smile, I was that happy but Jayden didn't seem to reciprocate my feelings of relief.
"I don't have my phone with me." He deadpanned.
Oh right, Brian had his phone with him.
"That's fine. I have mine with me." I reassured him but I was so sure if my happiness was valid because my phone had been giving me low battery warning since morning.
"Call someone and ask for help." Jayden nodded urging me to take my phone out.
Before taking my phone out from my pocket, I prayed and gave a mental prayer to God to make my phone last until I asked someone for help.
I click the lock button and peeked at the battery- it showed one percent.
Well, that was enough to quickly send an sos text to one of my friends.
"Jesus, your phone is as good as dead." Jayden commented, his voice near my ear, I felt his breath tickle my cheek. His chin lightly grazing the top of my shoulder.
He was too close.
I pulled away and faced him. Keeping a hand on his chest, very well toned chest, I pushed him away. "Keep your distance."
"Why? Are you bothered?" He pushed forward, my hand on his chest having no effect to stop him.
He brought his face near mine, his eyes meeting mine holding me captive. His tongue darted out to wet his lips, the movement catching my eye and I bit my lip involuntarily.
