So Jennie and I have been at my apartment for approximately 30 minutes and things with us are slightly awkward. It's odd because we've experienced a lot together but somehow it feels like the first movie night we had.
I'm not saying that's a bad thing but I'm not quite sure how to act.
I feel rather fidgety and unsure of what is going to happen.
You know what I'd like?
Besides that.
A night free from thinking, analyzing, worrying, second guessing and trying to get in Jennie's head.
That's what I'd like.
A carefree evening where we just have fun.
It seems like forever and a day ago since Jennie and I have had that.
The only problem is, I'm not exactly sure how to accomplish said feat.
I could offer Jennie a drink.
No!
No!
No!
Did I mention a big fat no?
Alcohol, plus me, equals not good.
What if it's just one drink?
No!
Fine, fine, I get the picture.
Sheesh!
My inner ramblings are being very responsible.
Too bad!
Jennie and I are sitting next to each other and she's drumming her fingers against her leg while we wait for our food to arrive.
I nixed Jennie's pizza idea.
Pizza hasn't exactly been my friend lately.
I opted for Chinese instead despite the potential perils chopsticks pose.
Anyway, we've been sitting here for like ten minutes without a lot of talking going on.
Did I mention that things might be a tad weird?
So, yeah, I'm kind of stuck right now and I can't think of one good idea to get this party started.
I know it's not a party, it was just an expression.
"It was a beautiful day today," I state like Jennie couldn't tell that on her own.
Lame.
And possibly the most cliché way to make conversation.
"Not as beautiful as you," Jennie replies.
Ok, ok, I totally made that part up, but it would have been awesome if she did.
"Yeah, it was," is Jennie's actual response.
Bang up job there, Jisoo, bang up job.
I know!
I can tell her a joke.
Jokes are good.
Right?
I mean, they make people laugh and laughing makes people happy and happy people are, well, happy.
Sweet!
Now, I need to find the right joke.
Got it!
A priest, a rabbi and a dog walk into a bar...
I might just be one dumb joke away from getting committed.
