The sunlight beamed against my bare skin, quite fair for this lovely morning as the dusk had finally come to an end; the dawn gradually broke out. The temperate breeze of morning air passed through me, seeking its way to my nostrils. It was amazing how everyday I woke up to this beautiful sunrise—basically every morning whether it was rain or shine—and just made me appreciate more of what other wonderful things He always did.

With my Converse shoes on, I started walking towards my destination. My black sweater kept me warm to prevent me from shivering since the wind was craddling me. The white sweatpants I wore was gifted to me by my lovely grandma, who already passed away three years ago; thus, I indeed deemed this as somewhat memorable. Lastly, I brought my skateboard with me as it was what I'd intended to do this morning—my everyday routine, perhaps.

The morning-hype got me a little too brisk, which made me enumerate the things I had to do for this day. The sun had already passed the horizon. Its light made its way through every turn as much as possible, casting shadows below the buildings and other objects as it landed upon the rooves. Before I even knew it myself, I already stumbled at my destination.

Vince Matthew's house.

I knocked on the door, three times as usual. No responses, no shouts, no footsteps; basically none. Did I wake up him a little too early? But I didn't think so anyway since he usually woke up at this hour already, or even earlier than this. I knocked again, this time louder. However, I didn't get any from what I did. Just as I had thought I should go already since maybe he was still asleep, the door opened.

I got startled. "Dude what?!"

He made a silly-slash-confused face. "What, what?" My face turned expressionless though I could say it was more of an unimpressed one. When I was about to say something, he dashed into it and stole my chance. "What are you doing this early?"

I intently eyed him in an intimidating manner. "This early?" I then looked at my watch. "I see, so you mean five-fifty is early when you even go out of your house at three just to meet your needy and clingy girlfriend?" I smirked afterwards, feeling quite much satisfied with what I had provoked.

"I don't know if there's any worse of a friend than you are," he said, trying to fight back. I knew him well. Whenever I insulted him in whatever manner, he always got really embarrassed and irritated; however, since he didn't even know how to express his feelings well, all he could do was to seethe.

"There's no any. That's why you're lucky to have a unique friend like me." I smirked as I knew I had most likely dropped his gears down, thus, defeating him that easily.

He sighed, his face suddenly became expressionless. "Fine. But seriously, what do you want?"

I frowned. "I just thought maybe you wanna go skating? Like, you know. . . strolling around the not-so-empty streets?"

His face remained expressionless. "No, apologies but no. . . I can't, bruh."

I rolled my eyes. "What? Hello?" I waved my hands right before his very eyes. "This is California my dude. Morning is great, God is good, what else could you wish for? Let's do some productive activities c'mon!" I enthusiastically persuaded him but his facial expressions still remained the same. Nothing even twitched, and it was worrying me. Usually, he was never like this.

"Yeah, I know that. But I'm sorry, I really don't want to." He momentarily closed his eyes and gathered his strength to look at me again. Sighing, he forced a smile. "Look, Rain, I'm tired. That's all."

That's when I realized he had a problem. Worry started to creep inside me as my pity was focused towards him. He was the kind of guy who didn't have much problems, and even if he had, he usually didn't get bothered by it. He was that chill and "yolo" kind of guy, so it lowkey surprised me to see him gloomy about a problem.

"Wanna talk about it?" I asked, my voice was as gentle as it could be.

He stepped outside of his door and proceeded his way a very little further away from the doorstep. Sitting on of the wooden steps of his house's terrace stair, he rested his head on his knuckles while he closed his eyes. "Goodness, please my Lord don't leave me alone."

I sat beside him. "He won't. What now? Spill the tea my friend."

He sighed, his voice shaking as it prolonged deeply from his mouth. "She broke up with me, man."

Well, I thought him being problematic— especially about a relationship—was already a top-notch surprise, and I had never thought there could be any more surprising than that. I could say that him crying proved me wrong. Like how? I'd never seen him looking this miserable all throughout my life. All throughout my moments with him, I only saw his grins, his playful side, his silly faces; basically his happiness.

"I'm sorry to hear that." I was even more sorry the moment I realized how pained he must've been when I literally just mentioned his girlfriend earlier. "And for my words earlier that might've given you stings in your heart."

He sniffed and tried to keep up with the convo. "It's o-okay, I guess this is time to show you an unexpected side of me anyway."

"The truth has now been told bruh that not all the time, you are happy. At one point of your life, you gotta experience pain." I patted his shoulder and pulled him closer to me. "Bruh, tell me about it."

He continued to silently sob. "Dude, you know how much I love her. She knows that, too." I hummed in response and gestured him to continue. "But why. . . w-why did she leave me for another man?"

My blood started to boil. "How did she leave you that way?"

"She suddenly sent me a breakup message then deadass blocked me. She didn't even give me the chance to ask why and clear it out, or like what." His sobs became even louder so I had to gently massage his back to ease the discomfort and difficulty he was feeling. "Later on, I saw her latest tweet in which she was snuggling close to another man I wasn't that much familiar to. The caption says, 'He is my best and I'd never leave him.'"

"Darn. . . that hurts a lot." Being unconscious of my own due to the anger which blocked my senses, I balled my hand into a fist and stared at blank space.

"She was my everything."

"I know, I'm really sorry to hear that." I suddenly became anxious for no reason. Or. . . that was what I thought so at first. I realized I was definitely afraid that maybe I'd get cheated by the one I love the most. Mostly, this was about Lea. I didn't wanna dive into that quickly because I might lose. I had heard that she. . . cheated. I gotta be careful. I just started courting her, and I didn't wanna lose everything when I'm already very into her.
