25. Venser

I was about to walk back down stairs when something materialized in front of me, I was moving too fast to stop and I collided with it sending both me and it down the stairs. When I sat up at the bottom I looked around to see what I had collided with, I heard a groan and turned around and realized I had collided with a person. I looked up the stairs and Ral was half standing half bent over laughing his head of trying to say something between laughs and was not doing a very good job and that seemed to be making him laugh more. The two of us finished getting back on our feet around the same time, as I was about to ask the man if he was ok, his feet get swept out from under him and before I had a chance to react so did mine. As I sat up on the floor again I look around to see what happened and then burst out laughing, Ral also fell down stairs probably form laughing too much and he was not doing much laughing now. Ral rolled over and pointed at me, and again, before I had time to react a weak bolt of lightning hit me in the shoulder, it sent my entire right arm numb. I pointed my left hand and Ral and summoned a flame. Before I got a chance to launch it the man suddenly appeared between us “that’s enough you two”

I let the flame fizzle out and got to my feet, my right arm felt very heavy due to the fact I could not feel it, I decided I would get a better shot at Ral in the Dragon Maze. Ral was on his feet soon after me. The man was wearing dark brown armor and had steel or iron shoulder Guards, shoes, gloves and helmet, his brown had a white undergarment and silver embroidery. “Venser, what brings you back here?” Ral asked. Venser sighed “I need help” as Venser said that Ral looked at me, I had a feeling I knew what he was going to say so I spoke first “what kind of help?” Venser looked at me “someone that knows how to not run into someone teleporting” I raised an eyebrow “are you saying that’s my fault we fell down the stairs?” Ral spoke up “Venser, be nice, he is new here, and I think he would be a perfect assistant for you” Venser looked at Ral “you remember our last encounter with the Krark Clan Goblins?” Ral nodded “I remember it did not end very well” Venser nodded “yes well, it seems someone has accepted a quest in that area and I have been asked to find someone willing to help me help them” I looked at Venser “did you say Krark Clan?” Venser nodded “you know them?” I shook my head and pulled my request out of my bag “I will soon I guess” and handed the Request to Venser, Venser looked at it, looked at me, and then at Ral showing him the Request at the same time. Ral looked at me worried “well the good news is your found the person with the quest, the bad news is you lost your third person when you found the quest holder, but in more good news I’ll be your third person, I feel like a little revenge” Venser handed me back my request and I put it back in my bag “you my boy are very lucky, you have two planeswalker companions with you for this quest, and what a quest this is going to be, shale we go?” Venser put out his hands towards us and both me and Ral grabbed on “the name is John Zarek by the way” Venser raised an eyebrow in Ral’s direction and Ral Nodded “nice to meet you John, you ready for this?” I nodded unsure what to suspect, then I felt it, it was like someone had created a black hole inside my stomach and I was hit by a wave of hunger then I felt like all my bones had been sucked into my stomach, my organs felt like they had exploded and my vision went black.

When I awoke I was propped up to a tree, it took me a few seconds to realize why it was so cold, it was made of metal, everywhere I looked everything was made of some type of metal or another, It was amazing, and it would have been more amazing if my guts didn’t suddenly decide to react to being teleported and make me throw up from what felt like an empty stomach the second I went to stand up. Venser kneeled down in front of me “first time teleport?” I nodded “yup” Venser nodded “Ral had the same reaction the first time, then again so has everyone else, you going to be ok” as to answer his question I got up on my feet and swayed a bit but managed to stay standing “I’ll be fine, so where are we?” Ral looked over his shoulder “well we are about a ten min walk from there Lair, I can see it from here” I walked up the slope to where Ral was “let’s go then”
