"It's... um... I was about to fix your marriage to a close friend of mine. I know him very well. Your mother knows about this decision too. And most importantly, agrees with it. We planned on this for a few weeks now but he had to leave town for work purposes." Dad says leaving me shocked.

"You were gonna fix my marriage?"

"Yeah."

"With whom?"

"A friend of mine, Raj Malhotra."

Who the fuck is he? "Who's that?"

"CEO of the Malhotra."

"Like the brand? He's the owner and the CEO of that brand?" I say getting super unimpressed already knowing he's a big shot.

"Yes."

"He's your friend? Doesn't that mean he's old? Not to mention he's a CEO so he should be old."

"No!" Mom exclaims this time. "Why would we marry you off to an old man? Do you think we've gone crazy?"

"I'm sorry, I'm just curious, Mom."

"He's a young CEO. His grandfather started a private company and Raj established it and made it a brand worldwide. He's only twenty-nine. Five years older than you."

And three years older than Gael. I actually prefer older guys but who the fuck cares about this Malhotra dude? Hearing about him already makes me hate him. Obviously, he's one of those spoiled young CEOs who wouldn't even touch a grain of rice from the house of a lower class. How fucking pathetic.

"I can't believe you almost got me married to a baseless rich CEO like that. Thank God I have Gael."

"Baseless? What do you mean by that?" Dad squeezes his eyebrows.

"It's so clear, Dad. He became the CEO of a brand that he established after his grandfather." In conclusion, he's an arrogant motherfucker.

"What about it?" Dad's getting pretty defensive about this dude. Who the fuck is this man and why do I despise him already?

"You know what, dad? Just leave it, that doesn't matter anymore. What matters is, you're gonna see the guy I choose tomorrow. So, this arranged marriage thing really doesn't matter."

"That's right." He says. "We'll see him in the morning. About 10.30. Tell him to be punctual, I've got a meeting to attend afterward."

"Okay, Dad."
