"You've been extremely close to His Majesty lately, sir. Is there something special?" Rohit asks with a grin.

"It's nothing like you're thinking, Rohit." I continue typing on my computer.

"If you say so." He flips through his clipboard. "Anyways, there's nothing important in our schedule today, sir. Just a weekly meeting at 1 pm."

"Alright. Thanks, Rohit."

"Sure, sir." He leaves my cabin and I continue working till I get a notification from my phone. I check to see a text message from Mr. Yash himself.

Zara's Dad: Good morning, young man. I hope you're doing well, it's been a minute since I've talked to you. I have something important to speak with you. Are you free in the evening?

Even if I'm not free, I would make myself free for him. That's how much I've become attached but I made sure to keep that inside me. Whatever it is, he's still the King of Uttar Pradesh.

Me: Good morning, sir. Yes, I am. Text me the details and I'll come to see you.

Zara's Dad: How many times did I tell you to not call me sir?

Me: Old habits die hard.

He sent me a laughing emoji and I realized I was smiling. If I had a loving dad like him, I would've reached places. I would've known what to do and what not to do. I would've learned how to love and how to be loved.

I'm just so fucking unlucky.

"Sir, the meeting's starting in half an hour. Do you need a coffee?"

"No, thanks, Mr. Wright. Bring your team to the meeting room. I'll be there ten minutes before it starts."

"Sure, sir."

I'm so glad the meeting went well and quick. I was looking forward to seeing Mr. Yash after he said he needed to talk about something important to me. I drove my car to his office and walked inside.

"Good evening, Mr. Malhotra. You're here for a tea time with His Highness, right?" The receptionist asks with a smile on her face.

"Good evening, yes."

"Follow me, sir."

I followed her to a private lounge but this was a different lounge. Mr. Yash and I have been meeting here for the past month instead of the main VIP lounge we were in the first time we met.

I see him already seated on the chair, reading a book. "What book are you invested in?"

"The Strength in our Scars. It's really good." He replied removing his glasses. I sit on the comfortable chair diagonally opposite him.

"I've read that one. It's really good."

"You love reading?"
