"Why the hell does this have to be so high up the dang sky? Oh Lord, my hands hurt!!"

I heard Zara from afar and squeezed my eyebrows. Huh, her hands hurt??

I rushed to the source of her voice to check what the fuck was going on. Jia's wedding is tomorrow and we're checking in for the decorations at the hall for the reception night. This whole week was just hectic but fun. We had the Sangeet Ceremony, Roka Ceremony, and many others before the wedding tomorrow.

It was the first time I had to interact with people during the ceremonies. Even though I found it pretty fun, it wasn't nice because my wife pretty much hates me. So, that fucking sucks ass.

My thoughts were removed by the sight in front of me as I reached the spot Zara was at. I absolutely cannot believe what I'm seeing. My wife is up on an extremely tall ladder, working on some decor.

I can hear her sighing before she goes weak and loses balance. Fuck, my heart almost stopped when I saw that happening right before my eyes. My reflexes immediately acted as I rushed towards her and I caught her in my arms before she could fall flat on the ground.

I held her body close to me and it was the first time I ever held her in my arms. I've never felt how her body feels like and now that I have, I want more.

My arms were encircled around her waist and hers around my shoulders. She looks into my eyes, panting hard. Her eyebrows were drawn together as she appeared to be in shock.

I've never been this close to her and it made my heart beat faster.

Especially when I see that mole on her chest. Fucking hell, that one fucking mole drives me insane. Whenever she wears something that allows it to be seen, I consider myself dead.

But obviously, I can't experience this without an abrupt interruption that would probably take my only chance of being close to her away because she got back to her senses and pulled back from me.

"Raj?" She says after dusting herself, fixing her eyes on mine. "When did you come?"

"What are you doing, Zara?" I'm just going to ignore her question because now that I'm back to my senses as well, I had to go back to being pissed about the fact that I just saw her up on a ladder.

"Huh?" She squeezes her eyebrows in bewilderment. "Do what?"

"What were you doing?" I pointed to the ladder.

"Oh, that. Um... they asked me to do that."

"They asked you-" I was so pissed that I had to interrupt my own words. "It's not your job. What if you fell to the ground? What if you got injured? Falling off a ladder is no joke, Zara. What if I hadn't come at the right time?"

"Relax, Raj-"

"No, Zara." I interrupt her. "Not in this matter, I won't. Could you imagine what must've happened if I hadn't come at the right time? You were so high up and you were about to break a bone."
