Bree's P.O.V

"You know a lot changed since you haven't been around," Amber filled me as we lounged on the couch in her basement.

"Well for starters," she grinned. "Josh and I are officially going out!"

"Congratulations!"

I hugged her and we grinned at each other. It had been a long day with Jess and Ems ignoring us but it was a relief to know that at least another of my relationships had survived the Luka escapade. It was unfortunate that I had missed a lot of important stuff in my friends' lives due to my forced absence but I was determined to make  wrong things right.

While we were chatting amicably about Amber and Josh's new relationship the door flew open and Emma and Jessica rushed down the stairs. They froze when they saw Amber and I talking amicably on the couch.

"Omg, is the playoffs today?" She said way too innocently. "I forgot that everyone was coming over to watch the first game today," she chirped.

I stared at her accusingly and rolled my eyes; she was a terrible liar. She hopped up from her seat and ran over to Jessica pushing her in my direction. She stopped when we were a few feet apart and turned around to grab Emma.

"Well as we are all here why don't we have a nice talked and make up?"

Jessica glared at me angrily and I stared back repentantly before she strode forward and slap the taste out of my mouth.

"That's how it feels when you take on all pain and hurt by yourself and push you love ones away," she snapped. "It's like a slap in the face. Being discarded like you're useless!" She cried as her eyes brimmed over with fresh tears.

I smiled at her closing the distance drawing her into a big hug knowing full well that I deserved it for how much I had hurt her.

"Thank you," I whispered into her hair as she sobbed softly. "Even though you haven't known me so long thank you for caring about me so much," I smiled.

She squeezed me back and nodded and  I knew I was already forgiven. It was crazy how much they cared for me in such a short time and I was extremely happy to have them in my life. After Jessica had gathered her composure it was Emma's turn. As Jessica finally let me go and stepped away Emma strode forward not needing any extra guidance from Amber. She stopped even closer to me than Jessica had glaring at me angrily.

"Clench your jaw!" She instructed and I smiled timidly as I waited for my punishment. She raised her hand as if she would hit, all the while glaring before she reached out and pulled me into a hug.  One of her hand slid behind my neck protectively while the other wrapped around my back. "Don't ever do something like that again!" She exclaimed. "Or we won't be friends anymore. I don't care if the grim reaper is knocking at your door! You're not allowed to fight him alone! You hear me?"

I nodded happily as we held on to each other and Amber and Jessica joined in our hug. The four off up crying it out together. Honestly, I knew I didn't deserve any of them but somehow someone up top decided to bless me with the three of them and I would cherish them for the rest of my life. They were the type of friends that any girl would give anything to have and I was glad I was the undeserving fool who had these three in my corner. After what seemed like forever Dustin finally stuck his head around the corner.

"Hey!" he exclaimed. "Is the son fest over because they are some of us who would like to watch basketball!"

"You jerk!" I snapped playfully. "Don't you have any tears to shed for your long lost friend?"

He faked wiping tears from his eyes as  he ran to us imitating a overly frantic girl. Amber and Jessica jumped out of the way and I pushed Emma into his outstretched hand. He caught her and steadied her before they stepped away from each other. The air around the two seemed a little awkward but Dustin rushed forward and gave me a gigantic bear hug.
