Bree's P.O.V
"Are you sure there's nothing else I can get you?" Mrs Hurley asked for the hundredth time.
"No Mrs Hurley. I'm fine!" I sighed. I was trying to conceal my irritation.
Amber's mother wasn't a bad person but her efforts to correct her daughter's mistake a month ago was tiresome. I'd gotten over it, so had Amber and believe it or not so had my father. He actually had become quite smitten with Amber, Jessica and Emma since our trip to Atlanta. He said there were much better company than Summer but that wasn't much of a compliment. Anyway, the point was that Mrs Hurley needed to give me some space before I snapped. I threw Amber a pleading look and she answered mine with an equally nervous glance which I only found out later was because she was on a short leash since the incident transpired. She couldn't so much as breathe without incurring her parents' wrath. Thankfully Dustin interceded before I could blow.
"Okay mom, I think Bree and the girls would like to get to practicing for the exhibition without you disrupting everything," he adviced.
"Oh my!" she exclaimed. "I'm so sorry girls," she cried though her eyes were only fixed on me. "Be sure to call if you need anything," she encouraged.
I just smiled politely and nodded as she left. After that the evening went much more smoothly. Jess, Em's, Amber, Dustin and I got to work on our performance. We were going to dance to five songs, each girl would have a thirty second intro to her own song and then we were going to sing and dance to the last on. Amber would start off to 'Ain't No Other Man by Christina Aguilera', Em would cut in with 'Naughty Girl by Beyonce', followed Jess with 'Ride by Ciara' and finally me to "Rude Boy by Rihanna'. The plot was the four of us would fight over Dustin's attention and then we would all battle it out in song and dance to 'Worth it by Fifth Harmony ft Kid Ink'. Dustin would rap Kid Ink's part and in the end he would choose one of us.
"I definitely don't want to be the one he chooses," Amber grunted. "Because that's like totally gross.
"Okay, Okay!," we all laughed at her. "I think it should be Emma," I offered.
"Me?" she asked nervously. She blushed a little and peaked at Dustin out of the corner of her eye. "Why does it have to be me."
"Because," I drawled.
"I'm not doing it!" Amber interrupted causing us to snicker again.
"Okay Amber, we get it," I snorted. "You don't want to be involved with your brother even if it's pretend."
"As long as we're clear on that," she huffed.
"Oh be quiet piglet," Dustin teased.
"Who are you calling a pig?" she streaked jumping out of her seat with her hands on her hips.
"What?" Dustin said innocently. "Piglets are cute. Right guys?"
"Y-you-"
"I agree with Dustin, piglet," Jess giggled earning her a glare. "-ets are cute," she amended.
"Anyway," I laughed turning back to Emma. "Amber isn't doing it, Jess and a certain jock seem to be steadily becoming and item. Wouldn't want him getting jealous or anything," I teased.
"What about you," she asked shyly and I could it wasn't because she didn't want to do it. I think it was more of the case that she wanted to know if I wanted to do.
"Bree's a great friend but I don't think she worth me meeting an early death," Dustin said nervously.
"Ouch," I cried playfully holding my heart.
