“Niall, we’re going the wrong way,” Elizabeth says sitting up looking at her surroundings because the flashes have disappeared.
“Who said I was taking you home?” Niall asks eyes focused on the road.
“Niall! My mom expects me home soon,” Elizabeth whines.
“To bad, you weren’t even suppose to go home to begin with, now I’ll have Jen keep an extra eye on you,” Niall says raising an eyebrow.
“I needed something different to wear,” Elizabeth mumbles under her breath.
“What did you say?” Niall asks as the light changes red and he presses the brake.
“Nothing,” Elizabeth says as she looks out the window.
“I asked what did you say?” Niall asks angry and grabs Elizabeth’s shoulder.
All Elizabeth does is say “Please don’t hurt me!” then she gets a flashback from merely a year ago.
Elizabeth’s flashback (from a third person POV)
“Elizabeth come out come out where ever you are,” a man evilly taunts lurking around the room stumbling over his own two feet.
Elizabeth lets out a small whimper as she crawls out of the room as her heart jumps out of her chest with worry. She has to bite her lip to hold back the tears.
“I asked where are you?” the man says angrily looking around the room more.
He finds Elizabeth and pulls her up by her shoulder to meet his eyes.
“You can run but you can’t hide,” the man says with a smirk and the smell of alcohol hitting Elizabeth’s face.
“Now you are going to have to be punished,” the man says with a fake pout.
The man raises his arm and slaps Elizabeth across the face. The man raises his arm to do it again, Elizabeth closes her eyes waiting for the impact of a hand but instead Elizabeth’s ears start to ring from a gunshot. She sees the man’s eyes roll to the back of his head as he collapses on her, all 250 pounds of him. Elizabeth struggles to get the man off of her but stops when she feels a warm sensation on her hand; blood. She looks up to see her mom standing there with a gun in her hand and eyes filled with guilt.

Elizabeth can’t even speak; she sits there with her mouth open gasping for air like a fish out of water. So Niall decides to pull the car over. Niall looks at Elizabeth as she hyperventilates.
“A-are you ok?” Niall asks worried touching Elizabeth’s arm.
“Don’t touch me, you’re just like him,” Elizabeth spats as she hits Niall’s hand away.
“Like who Elizabeth?” Niall asks rubbing his hand.
“M-my dad,” Elizabeth replies bursting into tears.
“What do you mean?” Niall asks looking at her.
“He always came home d-drunk, one day he was starting to beat me when..” Elizabeth trails off.
