Mark Tuan's POV
He's gone forever.
I wish I could go into details, but that's for another time.**
I grieved for a week and came back to the hospital.
I had promised her I would tell her the truth that day, a week ago. She had been waiting for three weeks, and then I just left when it was most important. I have a person dead because of me, I don't want to lose her too. Not again.
I apologised as soon as I entered, and held her hand to comfort her. I saw a tear slip down the side of her face and wiped it away. I comforted her for the rest of the night, and I came back in the morning to apologise again.
And then she spoke.
"Why? Why did you leave?"
I almost fell out of my seat. It's lucky I didn't, otherwise I would have yanked her hair out, as I was currently playing with it. "There was some... stuff to sort out. It's fine now."
"What about the bruises?"
My eyes widened in surprise. There's no way she could have seen the bruises... is there? What am I even saying?! She can't hear me, she's in a coma! She shouldn't even know what she's saying at the moment! "W-what bruises?" I humored her and myself by replying. I doubt she realises what she's saying, but just in case, I won't tell her about Jackson.
"Don't try to lie to me, Mark. You know I saw the bruises."
"Umm... well, I'm not allowed to see you."
"What?!"
"Or I wasn't before," I corrected myself quickly. "Relax, as I said, it's sorted now."
"Who?"
"That doesn't matter."
She sighed "Fine. I'll find out anyway."
"Nothing even matters anymore, you don't need to."
Was she... replying to me?
...I'm definitely hallucinating.
