Chapter 8

/ Diana's pov /

All I could think about were his words.

I love you. I love you. I love you.

It was driving me insane. He confessed his love to me and so did I to him.

I stared at Kaiden as he was still asleep besides me. I stared at his beautiful features. His long eyelashes , his messy hair and the freckles on his slightly tanned skin. He was without doubt the most gorgeous person I had ever seen.

Without thinking i raised my hand and started tracing his freckles with one of my fingers. His skin was so soft. I could touch it all day without getting enough of it.

He started stirring in his sleep and I quickly pulled back my hand and pretended to be asleep again. Not much later I felt him starting to move and he chuckled.
"I know you're awake sweetheart" he said and I opened my eyes. I blushed and smiled shyly.
"I'm sorry for waking you" I said. He smiled at me and gave me a kiss on my lips. I smiled.
"It's okay sweetheart , I like waking up next to you" he said and wrapped his arms around my body and pulled me flush against his.

I suddenly got a wave of nausea over me and I quickly ran to the bathroom. I fell to the ground and puked in the toilet. Kaiden was quick to be besides me and held back my hair.
"Are you okay?" He said and soothingly rubbed my back. I shook my head no and flushed the toilet.

"What happened?" He asked and picked me up. He laid me down our bed and I whined in pain.

"E-everything hurts" I whimpered. Sweat was now evident on my forehead as my whole body hurt. Kaiden was quick to pick me up again and bring me somewhere else.
"Where are you taking me?" I whimpered.
"To our pack hospital" he said.
"I know exactly what is going on with you" he ended before everything faded into black.

/ Kaiden's pov /

I had seen this before.

Diana was going to shift.

From all the results of the tests my doctor did on her , we came to the conclusion that Diana hadn't shifted yet. Because of the way she was treated her wolf had weakened and she wasn't able to shift.
Because she was healthier now , her wolf started healing too which means she is ready to shift. That's why the pain came and the nausea.

I rushed to my pack hospital and the pack doctor. I saw him in the hallway and rushed towards him with Diana in my arms.
"You have to help me , Diana is having her first shift and she blacked out" I told him as I reached him.
"Uhm take her outside to the garden I will be there in a second , I have to grab something" he said and rushed into a room.

I quickly ran outside and laid her on the grass. Our garden was open and led into the woods. I wiped the hair out of her face and cupped her cheeks. I kissed her sweaty forehead. Her eyes fluttered open and she whimpered in pain.
"It's okay sweetheart , you're going to be just fine" I assured her just before mason , my pack doctor , walked to us. He had a huge injection with fluid in it. Diana whimpered again when she saw it.

"It's okay Diana , he is going to make you better" I told her and kissed her softly on her lips. She smiled sadly and I smiled back. Mason kneeled down besides us.
"Luna , I am going to have to inject this needle into your arm. It will trigger your shifting process and it will happen in a few seconds" he said and Diana nodded , shakily.

I held Diana down as mason injected the needle in her arm in the right spot. Diana yelled out in pain as the fluid entered her. My heart stung but I kept strong for her.

Not much after mason pulled the needle out I heard bones snapping and another shot of pain went trough my body. Then when I looked at her I saw the most beautiful wolf I had ever seen. Her fur was as white as snow and her eyes just as blue as they already were. I brought my hand to her head and petted her. She purred in content. I decided to change into my wolf too and before I knew it my much bigger and brown wolf stood in front of Diana's small white wolf.
