When day disappeared from the skies, and all knowledge of her was gone, the gods spiraled into chaos.
Nature didn't know what to do with her plants without the sun.
Life could no longer keep the humans alive without the sun's heat.
Death couldn't handle all the lost souls and walking corpses.
War didn't know who to blame.
Time didn't even know what he was doing.
And Night no longer worked. He no longer spoke, either. So all the gods called a meeting to try to work on without day, even though they all know the attempt was futile.
"Now, let's try to figure out the issue and work around it. Nature, what's going on?" Logic asks.
Nature looked dimly at Logic, her green eyes pleading for an answer.
"Well..." She starts, "As we all know...a fellow god has gone missing. We all relied on said god, so.." She trails off, nervously fiddling with her brown hair."I'm sorry to interrupt," Death cuts in, raising his skeleton hand slightly. His empty sockets peering into Logic's full ones. "But can we get to the point? It's stupid beating around the bush,"
Logic nods, "Yes you're correct...I just thought we should address our individual problems and then fix those...it's simpler-"
"No," War interrupts, shaking her head, "It's avoiding the big problem! Day is gone and so is our hope! What're we supposed to do now?! Without Day the humans will all die and then we'll have nothing to work for! We'll fade away just like those mortals!" She exclaims, banging on the table, "And who's fault is it besides that whiney little sellout-!" She bangs harder, only to be interrupted by Night.
Night's head was low, and his voice was a low rumble, "Don't," He growls. Nobody has ever heard him since Day left, and his usual starry eyes and silent wonder went dim. His used to be starry hair is now just plain black, along with his eyes.
"Don't..." He repeats, turning his head away from the judging looks. Before taking a deep breath and standing up quickly. He seemed angry or agitated.
"If you guys are just gonna point fingers and avoid the problem," He looks dully at Logic, "Then please do it without me. I'm off to look for her and actually do something,"Quickly, Night turns around on his heels before anyone could object. Not like anyone would, as they all know not to argue with Night when he's in this mood. Except Logic, as his pride is too big for him to allow this.
"Uh, No. I don't think you underst-"
"I don't think you understand that I don't care. You can dance around your fake throne all you want to, Logic, but I'm not a dog to tame," He interrupts, stopping at the door. "I refuse to follow any order beyond this point, good day,"
And with that, Night storms out and slams the door behind him. The gods are slightly shocked, sitting in silence.
"Do you think he's going to earth?" Life asks, keeping her head low.
"Definitely," Time smiles. Time was the only one who continued to work, even if he's doing it blindly. He laughed, "Where else would he go? Or better yet, Where else would she go?"No other god objected. Time's laughter was the last one to be heard in a long time
