I just logged in, hoping to start a new book or Somethin, And I realized this book is collecting views??? Why??? Like, the most views out of all my books..? I'm not even publishing much here? Anywho! Here, take this short story based off of 'Mate' by Airways.

I look up at his window and sigh. I look behind me, at the bus stop across the street. It's abandoned, of course, it's going on six. I pick up my phone,

Dude, I'm stuck outside. The suns coming up, and Jen dumped me, I just need sleep.

There's no answer and I feel something wet fall in my hair. I look up and, as if this night couldn't get any worse, there's a dark cloud right above the neighborhood. It starts to rain. Quick and hard. My grey shirt is quick to get wet, my pants soaked and my converse are already slushy. My dark brown hair falls over my eyes.

I'm not even mad. I guess I deserve this, seeing as Jennifer wasn't too pleased with my behavior. I said somethings, she said somethings..Not even mad.

Ay, Man, Please throw down your keys. I know your in there with someone, I'll get out your way in a hurry. I won't interfere, get straight into bed. If I'm becoming annoying just stop me.

It's kind of raining though..and the bus won't be coming anytime soon..

I'll just wait on your step.

I sigh and sit down on the concrete path which leads to his door. I pull my knees up to my chest and sit my head on my knees. My head hurts and I know I look like a flippin hobo.

I'm tempted to text him again, but I already know he's not gonna answer. My head keeps circling back to Jennifer and how I could be in her house, tangled in blankets and eating popcorn. My eyes get heavy. If I just close my eyes and sleep out here it'll be fine right? It's not like I have a choice. I'll get a bad fever though. Probably won't be able to go to class in the morning.

I see the blueness in the sky turn lighter and decide to just close my eyes and sleep. Not before reporting back to Aaron, though.

Sleeping on your driveway, don't worry about it.

I hope he doesn't feel bad, this is my fault. I put my phone in between my stomach and legs and lean over it. I shiver, the rain hitting my back followed by a breeze. I sniffle before closing my eyes and drifting away..

Whoop whoop time skipping and changing point of views!

I wake up, and the first thing I notice is the person who seemingly left my bed. I'm not bothered by it, it happens a lot. But the second thing I notice is my phone on my nightstand. I pick it up and check the time. While doing so, I notice five missed messages from last night. All by Jake. I quickly type in my password and go to the messages.

After reading these, I quickly look out my window. I notice someone curled up on my driveway and quickly throw on pants and a red hoodie. I rush downstairs and grab an umbrella as well as putting on my red sneakers, then rush outside in the rain. Why didn't he just call me?! Oh- I guess I wouldn't answer to that either...what a great friend I am!

I run up to Jake, curled up with his knees to his chest. I kneel down in front of him. I poke him before shaking him. He lifts his head, seemingly surprised that the rain stopped before noticing me.

"I'm so so sorry, man. Come on, I'll grab you a towel and you can take a shower or whatever." I explain, getting up with him.

"Uh- Aaron you don't have to I could just take the bus-" Jake struggles, Moving his hair out of his eyes. I shake my head.

"Nah Nah, I left you out here, I should at least take you inside. After all, you'd look stupid going into the bus soaked." I joke.

Jake smiles and sniffles, wrapping his arms around himself. I open my door and he rushes into the guest room, which he claimed.

I rush after him, "Jake! Dude! Don't get in bed if your soaked!" I close my umbrella once I reach his door.

He simply closes the door and then tosses his soaked clothes out the door before closing it again. I pick them up, sighing. Guess I kinda deserve this for leaving him out there. I walk over to the laundry room and put them in the dryer.

I go ahead and start on breakfast, waiting for Jake to wake up. Knowing him, he probably isn't going to his classes. I'll tell his teachers and bring his work in the morning.

After completing the feast, I peek into Jake's claimed room. He's curled up in the sheets, passed out. His hair, of course, is still wet, which is causing the pillow under him to get wet as well. He doesn't seem bothered by it.

I leave a note in the living room explaining that I left for classes and rush into my car. Me and Jake have been best friends for a while, this isn't the first time one of us have been locked out of The other's house.

Jake has an apartment, but tends to come to my house because he shares the apartment with his new ex, Jennifer. My house also has faster internet and Is close to a McDonald's.

I get a text and quickly check it,

Thanks for the room. You're the man.

I laugh at this and simply text back,

It's cool I'll grab your work and stuff from your classes. I'm guessing your sick?

He texts back instantly,

The sniffles are the worst.
