This was a school project, but I think it's fine so 🤷🏾‍♀️
Alex grumbles as he trudged down the cracked sidewalk. The blue bookbag feeling like a weight on his back, causing him to hunch and worsen his mood. He pauses at Daniel's driveway with the nagging temptation to wait for him. Though, the time on his phone claims he'll be late. He knows for a fact that Daniel has yet to get out of bed, judging by the neon green bike in the driveway, but the lack of his mother's red Sedan.

He sighs, and while knowing he'll be late, Alex still walks up to Daniel's doorway and proceeds to repeatedly press the doorbell. Soon enough Daniel opens the door with a glare, "You could have just climbed in, My window is unlocked," Daniel turns on his heel and walks down his hallway and into the bathroom. Alex lets himself in and closes the door behind him, sitting on Daniel's black cushioned couch and scrolling through his phone.

"Dan, You have twenty minutes before we're late," Alex warns with boredom lacing his tone as he checks his schedule.

"I'm coming. I'm coming!" Daniel shouts back, rushing to brush his teeth and grab his bag. Daniel quickly gets dressed and races out the door. Alex follows behind him, making sure to close the door behind him. Once Alex catches up to Daniel, he slows his pace.

"We have gym today, A test, and-" Alex explains before Daniel cuts him off,

"Wait, what about the test?" Daniel asks, clearly oblivious to the science test.

Alex raises a brow curiously, "Science test? Didn't you study for it?"

Daniel pauses, humming in thought, "No..? I don't think so...can we-"

"Yeah, I can help you study at lunch," Alex cuts him off, "We don't have anything good for lunch anyway,"

Daniel smiles and nudges Alex with his shoulder, "Thanks Al'! You're literally a lifesaver,"

"No, Miss Kirkland is the hero for telling me. Though, I may have stayed up too late studying," Alex theorized, checking the time on his phone again.

"Dude, how do you stay so organized? I almost forgot to do my homework if it wasn't for...Your text actually.." Daniel realizes. Alex would've looked surprised if he didn't know that Daniel is always unprepared and forgetful.

He shrugs, "I'm just naturally organized I guess. You should try it,"

Daniel puts away his phone as they enter the school, "I would if I wasn't already accustomed to the unprepared lifestyle," He jokes, turning around and walking backward.

"That's not the wisest idea. If you bump into somebody you'll have to help me help them," Alex puts his hands into his pockets.

"Oh? And why's-"

"Watch out for Jasmine."

"Who-"

Daniel yelps before crashing into Jasmine, who had her head in a book while holding some papers under her arm. When she crashed into Daniel, The papers went flying. Alex sighs, already walking after a paper.

"Shoot I'm really sorry!" Daniel stammered nervously while frantically picking up some papers. Jasmine mumbles, "It's fine.."

After cleaning up twenty of the papers, Alex comes back with the missing five, "Ten minutes," He implored.

"Until?" Daniel questions, putting his hands back into his pockets as they continue the walk down the hall.

"The bell," Alex pulls on the straps of his bag.

"Hmm. I- Oh is that Adam?" Daniel points out, nodding his head towards the scene of Adam in a seemingly bad situation with Jacob. Adam folds his arms and hovers over Jacob with a glare as Jacob explains something Alex couldn't hear.

Alex looks for a moment, before deciding to do something. He walks quickly and lively down the hallway, hopping from one foot to the other. Daniel already notices what they're doing, as this isn't the first time.

"I heard a new game came out! Literally, I cannot wait to play it!" He exclaims, purposely bumping into Adam and shoving him against the wall behind Jacob. Jacob takes the opportunity and scrambles off quickly.

It doesn't take Adam long to turn around and glare at Alex, but Alex is already gone. Daniel was the one Adam was glaring at.

Daniel responds with a questioning look, "You okay?"

Adam realizes that Daniel wasn't the one who shoved him and angrily stomps off. Daniel rushes to catch up with Alex.

"It worked?"Alex questions, checking the time and then his schedule.

"Duh, When did it not work?" Daniel surmised.

Alex rolls his eyes, "Anyway, We can stop playing hero for now and get to class,"

Daniel nods in agreement and they jog off to class.
