Chapter 13

Zane's POV

"Morning sleeping beauty" Amanda pulled the covers off me.

"No Ammy, five more minutes" I pleaded and tried to go back to sleep. I just need a few more minutes.

"Okay" she said.

"Just so you know, Rose is coming up here with a bucket of cold water. Made especially for you". My eyes shot open. I jumped out of bed and ran into bathroom just as Rose entered the room. I heard Ammy laughing her ass off. I finished my morning business, got dressed and was ready for work. I headed downstairs for breakfast

"Good morning" I greeted and sat at the breakfast table. Rose was also joining us today. By us I mean amanda and I.

"Good morning"

"So remember you are having coffee with Mrs Knights at 09:00, so please don't eat too much." Amanda advised

Rose was awfully quiet today. I feel like I've done something wrong that offended her.

After breakfast, I drove to coffee shop were Julia and I were meeting. Amanda went to work.

"Hey"

"Hey Julia. Its good to see you this morning" I said

"The same goes for you too" she hugged me

We sat down an ordered coffee. We talked about a lot of things. I got to know Julia better and honestly I feel guilty. Julia doesn't deserve all of this.

Julia's POV

Why would Xavier cheat on me with her. She's such a nice girl. She's independent. Beautiful. And all that. What does she have that I don't? Am I not enough for him?

They don't know what's coming for them!

After an hour, Zane and I went our separate ways. I managed to become friends with her. So naive

Zane's POV

After my meeting with Julia, I went to work. Maybe i should just stop this whole thing with Xavier before its too late

At work I called my parents and we had a lot of catching up. I've always been a daddy's girl and a mommy's baby so I always enjoyed conversations with my parents.

I went to check on Lily's dress and it was good so far. I went back to my office to catch up on some work. The door of my office opened, I was engrossed in my work which is sketching dresses for clients, that I didn't look up to see who it was. I felt a pair of hands on my shoulders, I got startled. "Xavier" I cried out

"Hey you"

"Get your hands off me right now and state your business"

"Woah woman, what got your panties in a twist this lovely morning?"

"Really? Are you being for real Xavier? You left me hanging in that boardroom, you didn't call or text. After that when I saw you and your wife that night, you ignored me. And now you want to come in here and act like everything is fine. What if Patrick already told the whole world about us?"

"Calm down Zane, i'm sorry about that. I was just overwhelmed. And what did you expect me to say? You said it yourself. My wife was there so I couldn't say anything out of line in front of her or she would have caught on. She's not dumb you know. And please honey don't worry about Patrick. I've dealt with him. He won't tell on us. I've made sure of it." he smiled at the end of his monologue. I felt so relieved after hearing that about Patrick. "Okay, so what about us Xavier. Where do we stand?" I asked. I've been dying to know his response. "Zane, lets just take this day by day, no rush, no labels okay?" He kissed me passionately. "Okay" I said. He kissed me again. Only this time it was a rough kiss. He stopped kissing me.

"Now what do you say to spending the weekend with me?" He asked with that million dollar smile of his

"The weekend? But its Wednesday today"

"So what? We're going to have a long weekend then."

"Okay"

"Go home and pack your bags. I'll pick you up at 18:00"

We kissed one more time and he left. I had Amanda cancel all my meeting and move them to next week. I didn't tell her why though.
