Chapter 11

Zane's pov

It was around midnight when I was awoken by soft kisses on my neck. I opened my eyes to see Xavier hovering on top of me and stroking my nose, making me chuckle.

"Morning sexy" he greeted me. I smiled in response. He cupped my face and kissed me. I kissed him back, the kiss was slow and passionate. He tasted like mint. How is it that he doesn't have morning breath like everyone else?

"I have to go now" my stomach dropped after hearing those words. Reality dawned upon me. I'm just a mistress, nothing but just a mistress. "Okay" I said and he planted a light kiss on my forehead. He quickly got dressed and left. Just like that. He didn't even turn around and look at me for the last time. What have I gotten myself into? A mistress. Never once in my whole existence have I thought I would be one. I have always dreamt of getting married and have kids. Now i'm the one who is destroying another woman's home. Checking the time, I went back to sleep.

Few hours later (06:00)

"Good morning madre" I greeted Rose and she entered the kitchen.

"Good morning" she said abruptly without looking at me.

"Is there any problem madre?"

"No Zane, everything is fine. Have a great day" she said and left the kitchen.

What is wrong with her?

I finished my muesli and went to my room. I headed to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I wouldn't want people to see bits of muesli stuck in my teeth. That is unladylike. After I was done, I took my handbag and went to work.

"Good morning" I heard my employees greeting me as I walked past them to my office. I simply nodded in response.

"Mam your meeting with Mrs Draco starts in an 2 minutes. She is outside of your office, shall I send her in?" Amanda informed me through the intercom.

"Yes"

Lily walked in and sat down. I stared at her intensely , not uttering a word. "Hey" she greeted me.

"Good morning Mrs Draco"

"Zane there's no need to be formal with me, we're friends. " Friends? She must be out of her mind

"Lily, how can I help you today?"

"Straight to the point hey. Well I need a dress. My in laws are throwing a party and you know, I have to dress to impress as always. So considering that you're my best friend, I know you'll make something fabulous for me." She said with a smile, honestly I've never seen Lily so happy before. She is glowing. Marriage must be treating her wonderful. No London is treating her wonderfully.

"Okay, do you have any ideas in mind?" I asked her. She explained how she wants her dress to look like.

"I'll contact you Mrs Draco"

"Zane i'm sorry. I realise what london and I did was wrong. I'm really sorry. I apologise on London's behalf for assaulting you the other day. He's very sorry. I don't expect you to forgive us. I'll take my leave now. Thank you for agreeing design my dress" lily said and went out of my office.

I never thought I'd hear her say those words. Sorry never existed in her vocabulary. I remember the times when we use to fight (not physically) in college. She would bring me my favourite ice cream as an apology. My eyes were glossy as I reminisced our childhood moments. I quickly fixed myself before anybody saw me in this state. I still can't forgive them!

I started making preparations for Lily's dress. I was looking for the material so my seamstresses can start with the dress. "Mam, you have a meeting with your management team at Hotel Paradise at 15:00" amanda reminded me. I only have 30 minutes to get there if I don't want to be late.

I got to the hotel with 10 minutes to spare. I looked around the hotel and asked people what improvements they would like to see at the hotel. Most of them were about the behaviour of the staff members. I would have to talk to Xavier about that since we are partners. With two minutes left, I headed to the boardroom where the meeting would take place.

"Good day" I greeted the management team. We were waiting for Xavier so the meeting could begin. At 15:00, the door opened and Xavier stepped in. "Good day everyone" he greeted.

And so the meeting begun
