"I was hoping you would stay a couple of more days," Mrs Jones spoke with so much sadness in her eyes. I felt bad. Dealing with a broken heart on its own was torture, now her hazel eyes completely destroyed my soul. "I didn't think you'd need me around since he has...." I couldn't bring myself to say it out loud but inbetween my teary eyes I caught a glimpse of her slow nod. "I understand..." She paused. "We were hoping to have a word with you tomorrow but if you insist on leaving today we can just call everyone here for the meeting."

Please kindly explain to me why my heart started racing with noone or nothing really after I heard those words. "You may... Should I call them for you?" "Its okay, I will," Loyd spoke softly behind me. I turned to meet the second purest smile I had ever seen. "Thank you Loyd," their mother said as she rested back comfortably on the couch.

We tried to throw some small talk around the quiet living room. I must admit, Mrs Jones and I were so much alike. We both were awkward in such situations, especially dealing with grief. The funny part is that we used to have the best mother-daughter conversations. Whether we were talking about my career choice or family, it was always so lively but now...now all I wanted was for the ground to open up and swallow me whole. Now that would've been a pleasure.

Everyone present had been rounded up. The siblings' most respected uncle sat on a high chair showing the patriarch who reigned in him, he spoke with such great poise and confidence. You know, like politicians who expect everyone to listen to them second they open their mouths. "We have lost a son and a brother. We are torn and broken. He was a hardworker and I believe everyone would agree that he was a little too mature for his age. At 20 he spoke like a 25 year old. This is what has led us to this point."

The race in my heart commenced. What is wrong with you?! They're gonna think you killed him. Goosh that's so stupid and doesnt even make any sense! Focus! "We all know Samira here," he pointed at me with his whole hand, "she was his girlfriend. Unlike everything else Bryan ow....had, Samira is the only part of him he had plans for." Did he almost say Bryan owned me? Haha.Does he have a point? I was his girlfriend for goodness sake! We planned to settle down as soon as he graduated. Am only 18 but I also know what I want"...because of this Bryan had one final wish before he died. He called his uncles, including myself, and his brothers, Bruce and Loyd to witness his last will." Why does Loyd look more frustrated than everyone else. This is not good. Its not good! It must be "it"! The trusted uncle seemed to be dreading saying the main agenda of this meeting. Finally he spoke, "Bryan wished that Loyd takes care of Samira for as long as he lives, just like he had taken care of her."

There was a long pause. Everyone reeling in the knowledge of what had been said in the last moments of Bryan's life. One uncle broke the silence, "Samira my child, what do you say about all this?" I raised my head to face him. I was a bit confused about the will but in all honesty, it wasn't so shocking. This was like Bryan to do this. Always overprotective. "Thank you for letting me know. However I do not need taking care of and I have no wish to be a burden on the family that has given me the utmost consideration and respect."

"I do not think you understand any of this dear," Mrs Jones spoke kindly. "Bryan asked Loyd to marry you as soon as....." She did finish her point but I don't remember where my mind had wandered fashionably off to. If they were planning to keep me, they had another think coming.
