Chapter 8

We arrived back at the house not long after. "Ok Annie I know Kenzie is here but you still need to do your homework" my mum said. "But-" I began but my mum cut me off. "No buts Annie your doing it now." She said and then stormed out leaving me and Kenzie alone. I sighed and grabbed my computer. "What work is it your doing anyway?" Kenzie asked. "English" I said. "Oh well English isn't to bad. I mean at least it's not math" she said. "Oh god" I said. "What?" Kenzie asked. "I have to write a story about forbidden lovers." I said, I hated romance stories. "Forbidden, what does that mean" she said. "Well here it says I have to write about two people who fall in love but there must be a reason that they cannot be together" I said. "Oh like Romeo and Juliet." Kenz said rather excited. We sat for ages trying to think of an idea for my story when suddenly Kenzie blurted out "I know." I turned quickly to face her. "What?" I asked. "It could be about two girls who fall in love. But both there parents are homophobic." She said. I didn't reply I just kind of zoned out staring at her. "So is that good enough?" Kenzie said pulling me out of my daydream. "Um eh yeah that's brilliant thanks" I said. "Good. Well how about you start it off as them being best friends. It makes it more romantic" she said smiling at me. I could feel myself blushing again. "Y yeah" I stuttered making masked even more embarrassed. "W what should I name the characters?" I said, I was never very good at coming up with names. "How about our names, Kenzie and annie. They sound like names Shakespeare would write about." Kenzie said. "Um yeah" i said. I began to wonder if she was trying to flirt with me but that feeling soon faded when she looked at the tv and said. "Damn Leonardo dicaprio is so fine."
