"Charlie?" I hear Meryl ask when I am in the bathroom. I walk out to go see her in only a towel.
"Ah, Charlie, clothes please!" She covers her eyes and laughs. She has been so cheerful since she remembered Dancing with The Stars but, I'm worried she won't remember Sochi. That fear has been strangling me ever since they said she doesn't remember the past 6 months of her life.
I'm worried she might be deteriorating instead of getting better. Maybe I'm just a paranoid person. But, I remember the day I go the call.
"Charlie, come home.."
"Why?"
"It's Meryl...she's hurt"
And that was when my heart broke into hundreds of pieces.
But, she's better now. I finish getting dressed and walk out to her. "What's this?" She asks pointing to the gold medal.
"Well, we won that together. You just don't remember but, I'm sure you will soon. You have one too. It's in your bag." As if she doesn't believe me she walks over to her bag and pulls it out.
"I want to remember. I want to, Charlie." Meryl looks up frustrated. "Here, your journal. It's has it all in there. Read it while I'm picking up pizza for lunch okay?" I tell her easily.
"Okay hurry back. Oh and Charlie... You need to zip up your pants." She replies with a bright smile.
Before I walk out the door I see her open the journal.
