When I woke up, I was somewhere underground, and surrounded by dirt most likely, and was strapped down to a table.
Great.
When my vision finally adjusted, I recognized the goddess leaning over me.
"Minerva."
She smiled.
"Athena, actually. Get it right, you filthy Roman."
I gritted my teeth.
"Fine. Athena, why the Thanatos am I here?"
"I want the gods reinstated as rulers. And having you hostage will help Perseus agree to my terms."
"Percy will never give up his title as King!"
She tutted at me.
"Have you forgotten his fatal flaw?"
My blood ran cold.
"Shit."
Of course. His fatal flaw will force him to give up his crown. And he would let the gods go.
Athena's plan would work out perfectly.
"Language, Reyna."
I resisted the urge to snap at her. Instead I cleaned my head around to try and get a clue of where the neck I was.
I wasn't rewarded with anything.
The walls were stone, the floor was stone, and the roof was stone. The only way out was a door at the other end of the room.
What did alarm me, however, was the machine behind me.
"What's that?" I jerked my head towards the machine.
She looked amused.
"That will slowly but surely take away your godly powers. I think that Hephaestus has one. Not that your powers work here anyway. Hephaestus named it 'The ungodly machine'."
My eyes widened in alarm. so I couldn't do anything except hope.
Alaska.
I prayed inside my head for Percy to find me.

I flew down to the underworlds entrance, and went straight past Cerberus, past the gates, and into the throne room.
"Reyna's been kidnapped."
