“She's so lovely, she's so lovely, she so lovely, oh she's so lovely!”

I slammed the snooze button on my alarm clock. It was too early to be woken up on a Saturday morning. I turned over and got comfortable under the covers.

Zzzzz zzzzz. My phone started vibrating. Why does this always happen to me?!

It was Bex "Hello?" I said groggily

"Morning sunshine!"

"Why can't you let me sleep?!"

"The dance is next week. And a little birdie told you don't have a dress yet."

"Nope. What's this got to do with waking me up at this inhumane hour?"

"We're going dress shopping today!! You better be dressed by the time I get there."

I groaned, "you so owe me."

"Love you too!" And then she hung up.

I rolled out of bed and went to my wardrobe. I pulled out a blue hollister shirt, black skinny jeans and my blue high tops.  As Bex rang the doorbell I finished fishtail plaiting my hair.

"See you later!" I called to my parents as I closed the front door.

"See! You can co operate!" Bex cooed, pinching my cheeks.

"Shut up!" I slumped in her passenger seat. She grinned at me and turned up the radio.

"I'm feeling sexy and free, Like glitters raining on me" she sang loudly.

I laughed at her and sang the next line  "you're like a shot of pure gold I think I'm bout to explode"  "

Thats the spirit!" Bex laughed.

"I can taste the tension like a cloud of smoke in the air

Now I'm breathing like I'm running cause you're taking me there

Don't you know...you spin me out of control

Ooh ooh ooh ooh

We can do this all night

Damn this love is skin tight Baby come on" we sang loudly.

"Ooh ooh ooh ooh

Boomin' like a bass drum

Sparkin' up a rhythm Baby, come on!

Ooh ooh ooh ooh

Rock my world until the sunlight

Make this dream the best I've ever known

Dirty dancing in the moonlight

Take me down like I'm a domino

Every second is a highlight

When we touch don't ever let me go

Dirty dancing in the moonlight

Take me down like I'm a domino

You got me losing my mind

My heart beats out of time

I'm seeing Hollywood stars

You strum me like a guitar

I can taste the tension like a cloud of smoke in the air

Now I'm breathing like I'm running cause you're taking me there

Don't you know...you spin me out of control"  We stopped singing as Bex pulled up outside the shopping centre.

"Let's go!" she sang.

"I hate shopping," I grumbled.

"I heard that, now come on!" I growled and got out of the car.

Bex looped her arm through mine and dragged me across the car park and into the shopping centre. She stopped outside the first dress shop she saw and I rolled my eyes.  We went in and she immediately started loaded my arms with dresses. We were the same size so it was difficult to tell who they were for. She lead me to the changing rooms and took a silver dress from the top of the pile. It came to her knees and it looked quite nice. She handed me a red dress and I tried it on silently.

"I LOOK LIKE A TOMATO!" Bex busted out laughing.

The dress came half way down my thigh and had a really big skirt. I refused to try on any other dresses that Bex picked, much to her amusement.  Neither of us bought a dress from that shop. We carried on walking around until 1 when we had lunch.

"This is the last shop. If I don't find a dress here, I am not going to the dance." Bex agreed and we entered the last shop.  I was going through a dress rack and I saw the perfect dress.  It was a dark shade of blue and came above my knees. There was some silver detail on the bottom half of the dress and it had spaghetti straps.  Bex ran up to me holding a bright red dress.

"This is the one!" she squealed.  We paid for the dresses and left the shop. I was more relieved than you could imagine.

"Who are you going to the dance with?" I asked Bex when we were back in her car.

"No idea," she shrugged.  As I was getting out of the car she called out the window, "You better be packed for Saturday!" I laughed and went inside, only to be ambushed by my mum.

"Where have you been?!" she demanded.

"Shopping for the dance." I held up the shopping bag.

"And you didn't think to tell me?"

"I did," I deadpanned, my good mood vanishing quickly.

"I was worried about you."

"There was no need to be. As you can see I'm fine."

"Can you blame me?"

"I'm going upstairs now." I ignored her calling me from the bottom of the stairs.  I switched my laptop on and opened Skype. Fraser was on and he rang me as soon as I noticed.

"Hey!" he said

"Hi," I greeted, putting the dress bag in my wardrobe.

"Whats that?" he asked trying to see past me.

"What? Oh, it's my dress for the dance."

"Can I see it?"

"No!" I scolded. He rolled his eyes

"How will I know what colour tie to get if you wont show me?" "

It's blue." I smiled widely at him.

"Dude, why are you talking to yourself?" I heard from his end.

"I'm not crazy!" Olly's face popped up on the screen.

"Oh, hey Siobhan!"

"Hey Olly. Anyway I can see your busy so I'll talk to you later."

"Are you sure?"

"Positive. See you later."

"Bye!" I logged out and turned my laptop off.
