Siobhan's POV
"I-I love you," he said suddenly and his eyes widened immediately, waiting for my reaction. I was shocked. And that was putting it lightly. "I'm sorry!"
"Don't be," I smiled at him taking his hand and intertwining our fingers. "Love you too," I said honestly wrapping my arms around his neck and hugging him tightly. He looked relieved.
He pulled away and sat down next to the tree and pulled me down with him.
"You don't know how happy I am to hear you say that." I smiled widely as he kissed the top of my head softly.
I could see the sun through my closed eyes and groaned. Why did I feel so stiff? I tried to shift slightly but a strong arm wrapped around my waist constricted me.
I turned my head and saw a light blonde mop of hair. I grinned slightly as he stirred in his sleep. I poked him in the cheek lightly.
"Stop it," he murmured. "Let me sleep."
"Now where would the fun in that be?" I kissed him softly and he kissed me back almost immediately.
He pulled away and grinned widely.
"I could get used to being woken up like that." I felt my cheeks getting warmer. "Awwh you're so cute," he said pointing to my cheeks.
"Shut up!" I exclaimed swatting his hand away. He laughed out loud and I took my opportunity to move his arm and roll away from him and down the hill.
"Hey!" he called after me. I could hear him running after me and I laughed like a crazy person, trying to roll faster.
"Shiv! Slow down!" he yelled. His voice seemed to be getting further away as I sped down the hill. I knew I was going to be dizzy as hell when I stopped, but right now I didn't care.
I could feel the hill flattening out as I got closer to the bottom and instinctively tried to grab something to hold to slow myself down. There was nothing but grass around so I opened my fist to grab some but it only slowed me slightly as I ripped it out of the ground. Not good I thought, reaching for more. I knew that I was close to the car and I was suspecting the worst.
"Siobhan!" Fraser cried. Again the grass failed to slow me down. Crap, crap, crap, I repeated in my head.
The next thing I knew, my head collided with a tree stump that was sticking out of the ground slightly. Pain exploded in my head, causing me to cry out in pain. The hill was almost flat now so I had slowed down enough for Fraser to catch, and stop me.
"Are you alright?" he asked worriedly, kneeling beside me.
"I'm sleepy," I mumbled.
"Do not fall asleep," he ordered.
"I'm just…going to h-have a nap." Speaking was exhausting and my mind seemed to be engulfed in fog.
"No! Don't fall asleep!" he repeated. "You've got to stay awake for me okay?" I could feel him picking me up bridal style and carrying me to his car.
"Just…a short nap," I mumbled into his shirt. As he placed me down in the back seat of his car he pulled away, his eyes burning with intensity.
"You have to stay awake." His eyes bore into mine and I nodded once.
He started the car and drove me to the nearest hospital.
"Can I go to sleep now?"
"No."
"Please?"
"I cant let you fall asleep." My eyelids immediately started dropping and felt heavy. I was so tired…and then I blacked out.
Fraser's POV
"Shiv?" I called to the backseat. No reply. "Shiv?" I called again with more urgency in my voice. At the red light I turned in my seat to see if she was awake; but she wasn't. Her eyes were closed and I could see a large bump forming on her head where she had hit it on the tree stump.
"Sh*t," I muttered. I knew that you weren't supposed to let people with a head injury fall asleep or go unconscious. As soon as the light turned green I pushed my foot hard into the accelerator pedal to get to the hospital faster. If something happened to her…I would never forgive myself. I love her.
I parked the car in the first spot I saw and lifted her out of it. I hurried to the reception area.
"Yes?" the receptionist asked in a bored tone, not looking up from the computer screen. I cleared my throat and she looked up in annoyance.
As soon as she looked at my face she smiled widely.
"How may I help you?" she asked in a considerably brighter voice.
"My girlfriend hit her head on a tree stump and I think she has a concussion." Her smile dropped slightly when I said 'girlfriend' but she tried to hide it.
"I'll call the doctor right away! You take a seat over there," she said waving me over to a row of chairs on the other side of the room. I nodded at her in thanks and made my way over. Siobhan looked so cute when she was asleep, I thought and then blushed when I realised what was going through my mind. I almost groaned out loud. I was so whipped.
"Hello," I heard a voice above me. I looked up and saw a youngish male doctor looking at Shiv. "I'm dr Todd, what seems to be the problem?"
"She has a concussion," nodding at Shiv.
"And she's asleep?" he asked raising an eyebrow. I shrugged.
"I was driving her here and she fell asleep."
"Did you try and stop her falling asleep?" I narrowed my eyes at him.
"What are you implying?"
"Oh nothing!" he said with a smirk. "Are you family?"
"No," I growled through gritted teeth.
"Well…okay then. We better sort her out then."
"Right." Dr Todd led me down a brightly lit hallway.
"I suggest you go home and get hold of her parents," he said as I placed her on the bed. I was about to say something to him but decided against it. I didn't want to get banned from the hospital and I couldn't afford to with Siobhan there.
