Melanie Waters.
I was in the police station for hours, answering the same questions over and over again, but I wasn't going to change my story. I was so exhausted, I just want to be alone. I didn't want to go home, because there were too many reminders of Jesse there and it was entirely too soon.
"Okay, Ms. Water.. We just got word that you're related to a man who goes by the name AJ?" The cop asked and I nodded my head. I knew what they were about to tell me, I just had to pretend I didn't know.
"Ms, Waters, if you don't mind me asking, how exactly did you meet Jesse Attica? It's starting to look a little suspect that you knew two people involved in the two robberies in question." The cop said and I sighed.
"AJ and Jesse were friends and we met through him, at his brother's club. We were together for a year." I said, rubbing my face. "Where did AJ come from? What does he have to do with this?"
"Well...Ms. Water we regret to inform you that your brother was also killed today also...There was a shootout at the Roosevelt Hotel.
"What?" I said, tearing up, starting to cry all over again. "No, he's not, he can't be."
"Why is all of this happening to me?" I cried, covering my face. "This isn't suppose to be happening..I'm suppose to be getting married and having a baby with the love of my life..but he turns out to be..I don't even know what. Now my brother is one too and he's gone."
"You're pregnant?" The cop said and I nodded my head. The cops looked like they felt bad for me. "I'm so sorry...I know you're exhausted, and we want to get you out of here as soon as possible. Do you mind just going over thing we've talk about one more time?"
I took a deep breath, trying to wipe my tears. "Jesse started dating year ago. He proposed to me a few days ago and I'm pregnant. He told me that he was part owner of his brother's club, that's how I though he made his money. We were planning on moving in together soon, because of the baby. This morning, he asked me to meet him at the club tonight. When I got there, Lilly was already dead. I was about to call the police when they came in. I started asking questions and he got mad and tied me up." I said once again. "That's all I know, I swear."
They nodded looking at each other. "Is there anyone you want to call to come and pick you up?"
"I don't have anyone..Jesse and AJ were all I had." I crossed my arms over my chest and looked down. "I can just get a cab to take me home"
After taking a while of waiting, I finally walked out of the police station and got into a cab and told them to take me to a hotel. Luckily I grabbed my purse after the shoot out and they bought it to me from the hotel. I couldn't go back to the house, not yet.
I checked into the hotel, I went to my room a laid down on the bed. It was going on midnight and I was hoping that Gordon and John got to where they went. I took a deep breath, and took a deep breath and called Gordon.
"Hey Mel, where's Jesse and Jake? I've been calling them." I took a deep breath, trying to keep myself together, but I couldn't. and just started to cry. "Hey, hey, what's wrong?"
"They' dead." I cried, covering my face. Everyone's dead, G...I'm all by myself."
"What happened, Mel? Talk to me." He said trying to get me to calm down.
"We were at the club...Ghost killed Lilly and stole the money from the safe." I sniffled. "Then the cops surrounded the building and Jesse wanted me to stay inside, and tell the cops that I didn't know anything, and you know how they said that they're not going to jail so...they went out shooting."
"Shit..."I heard him sigh. "Where are you?"
"In a hotel...I don't want to go home." I said and there was silence on the phone for a while. "Things went left at the airport. Ghost killed Scott and tried to take the money. I got there in time to stop him, but he shot me, and was about to kill me, but John came and killed him. We couldn't fly because I had to get taken care of. Text John the name of the hotel you're at, and he'll come get you and take you to get your stuff at your place, then bring you back with us."
"Okay. Where are we going after that?" I asked.
"We're going to London." He said and I nodded my head. "I'm not going to leave you her by yourself. When you joined us, you became family, so we're going to take care of you. I promise, you're not on your own."
"Thank you, Gordon. I really appreciate you." I said and after saying byes, I hung up. I called the front desk of the hotel, letting them know that I changed my mind about staying here and that I wanted to check out. About 30 minutes later, John called me, letting me know that he was outside. When I got to the lobby, I checked and gave them back the key, and went outside. I got into John's car and he looked at me for a while and grabbed my hand, squeezing it. I gave him a small smile and he started driving towards my house.
"Damn, I didn't know you and Jesse were living like this." He said as we walked up the stairs and I pushed over the door, and took a deep breath. I walked to the book shelf in the living room, looking at all of the pictures of Jesse and I. I walked away from the shelf and went upstairs to our room. I had my bag packed for the beach, so I had to repack everything. When I finally finished, I sat down on the bed and broke down, crying again.
John came into the room and pulled me into a hug and I cried into his chest. "What am I suppose to do with his clothes and stuff?" I asked and he sighed.
"You can leave it for right now. We're just going to lay low in London for a couple of months, and then you and I can come back. Gordon is going to stay in London with his sister. When we get back, we can deal with all of this stuff, okay?"
I sniffled, nodding my head. "I know Gordon told you already, but I promise you're not alone. AJ asked me to look after you, if anything ever happened to him and I'm going to do that. I got your back and we're going to help you with this little kiddo, okay?"
I really appreciated John and Gordon, trying to comfort me and make me feel better, and it was actually working. After getting myself together, John grabbed my bags for me and we left the house and I got into the passenger seat, while he put my stuff in the trunk.
"Jesse told me where he hid the money." I said, with my head laying on the door.
"Where?"He asked and I told him to drive by the train station. When we had finally gotten there, we started checking the bushes. Luckily, there weren't any people out right now, or they would probably think that we were crazy. After searching for about twenty minutes, John finally found the bag, and we went back to the car.
