A snowflake slowly drifts down from the dark, grey sky and flutters around in front of your window. Cars rush around the busy street below and fill the quiet void of your apartment. You sigh deeply as you look out of the window and sigh, your head resting on the ball of your hand while your other hand moved slowly around as you sketch onto the front of your note book. A light knock at your door brings you from your drowsy daze and causes you to stop sketching.
"Y/N? There's a parcel here for you." Your landlady smiles softly as she looks around the door and holds out a small brown parcel towards you. You stand up quickly and leave the pencil by your sketchbook as you rush over and take the parcel, nodding a thanks to the old woman who smiles and leaves quickly. You scan the parcel as you weigh it in your hand and smile as you try to guess what it could be.
From Mom.
Your smile widens as you see the neat writing on the front before you tear into it, walking slowly back over to your seat at the window. As you sit down, you pull out a small, crystal bracelet and smile as you carefully slip it on and examine it on your wrist. It was your grandmothers. You remember your mother telling you about it and now here you are, wearing it. A Family heirloom or something.
A sudden sound alarms you as you look at the bracelet and makes you almost jump out of your skin with shock. You clutch your chest and breathe heavily as you search for your ringing phone and silently curse whoever was calling. Once you find your phone, you pick up your pencil and continue to sketch on your book as you hold the phone to your ear.
"Hello?" You chime as you stare at the book, a light frown forming on your face as you wait for your best friend to answer. You slowly stop sketching and pick up your book, looking over the strange symbols on the book that you had no memory of even drawing.
"Y/N. That's your name. Am i correct?" A distorted voice rings out on the other end of the phone. You scoff and put the book down as you look out the window at the rapidly falling snow.
"Are we playing a game now? Take off that stupid voice filter." You roll your eyes as you scold your friend. The voice on the phone chuckles slightly which sends a shiver through you as you watch a lonely piece of snow flutter around.
"How childish of you, Y/N. Not everything is a game." The voice replies before the line disconnects. You frown as you slowly pull the phone away and look at the 'Unknown Number' at the
top of the screen. You gulp as you look back out of the window and see a black car slowly crawling up the street."Stop it. You're just being paranoid now. It was just a prank." You scold yourself as you stand up from the window and close the curtains quickly before shuffling over to your bedroom. You yawn softly as you push open the door and flop onto the bed with a big sigh. You smile slightly as you close your eyes and stretch out on the bed, moving around a little to get comfortable.
Crash.
The door to your apartment suddenly bangs open, shaking the walls and your bed. You sit up immediately and stare at the doorway as your best friend comes into view. You roll your eyes and lay back on your bed, closing your eyes and sighing.
"Was that necessary?" You mutter as you open one eye to look at your friend who was standing completely still, their face emotionless. You gulp slightly as you sit up and stare at them, a frown forming on your face. "Are you high or something?" You question as you slowly push yourself up off the bed and walk towards them.
"I am fine. You will not be." They reply deeply, their usual soft voice distorted and demon like. You stop dead in your tracks as they slowly begin to walk towards you, their mouth thinning out into a small line. They then suddenly leap at you, their mouth expanding into one that had four sides, each with sharp teeth within them. A scream rises in your throat and escapes at a high level, shocking the demon. You dive out of the way as it crashes into the bed with a deep growl and turns on you instantly.
You quickly rush backwards into the main room of your apartment, looking around rapidly for something to attack it with. The demon crawls towards you quickly, growling as it's vile mouth twists and expands towards you. You close your eyes tightly as your back hits the wall and the demon gains on you quickly. It jumps up in front of you and quickly moves to rip your throat out with its sharp teeth.
And you wait.
And wait.
But all you feel is a light scratch on your shoulder. You slowly open your eyes to see the mouth right in front of you before it falls to the side, revealing a beautiful man behind it who smiles at you with a box-like grin. You blink slowly as you look at the man who began to quickly move around your apartment, paying almost no attention to you. His soft, brown hair bounced softly each time he took a step and framed his perfectly shaped face that was made from sharp lines and soft curves. His large, mahogany eyes scan your apartment and take in your belongings, never once looking towards you and his pink, plump lips were pulled back into a small smile, the corners of his mouth curled up while his bottom lip sat beneath his teeth.
As you watch the man, your vision slowly begins to become dizzy. You put your hand over your eyes and let out a shaky breath as your legs slowly feel weak below you. You feel yourself slowly sliding down the wall as your legs fail you and your mind grows dark. A sudden touch makes your eyes spark open and the beautiful man's face comes into view once more. You look over his features, spotting a small dot on the end of his nose and focus on it so you don't pass out. The man glances up at you as his smile fades and slowly moves your shirt to reveal a cut on your collar bone.
"You've been cut." He mumbles softly, his voice surprisingly deeper then you expected it to be. It was smooth and dark and velvety and could seduce you or send you to sleep. He sighs lightly as he slips his arms under your body and lifts you up bridal style with no problem at all and looks down at you as your body droops in his arms.
"Is that bad?" You slur slightly, your words barely whispers as you slowly loose consciousness. The man chuckles, his deep voice vibrating within you like a soft bass and sets you at ease as he walks towards the door.
"Very. Demons venom is bad if you get cut and you've been cut so..." His voice trails off as your eyes flutter shut and your mind goes dark. The man smiles softly as he holds you protectively and quickly moves out of your apartment.
