Percy POV
I was wondering what I could have done to upset the new girl as Reyna continued to talk. Mostly in whispers, as the teacher was still going, but she kept it up anyway. Finally, class was over, and Reyna and I walked out together. I looked back at Annabeth, who was still putting away her things, but quickly glanced away before she could notice. The first half of the day passed slowly, and thankfully, Percy had friends in every class. Woodshop with Leo and Jason, which was sure to be a disaster, English with Piper and Hazel, and Science with Rachel. The new girl, Annabeth, had been in two of my classes, Math this morning, and Science. She sat quietly in both of them, taking notes, and I snuck glances at her out of the corner of my eye.
It wasn't until lunch that I managed to put two and two together. Oh, Piper met someone who was starting here today. Someone she said you'll love. And the obvious connection that there was a single new student at Goode. So, at lunch, when all of their friends assembled, Percy wasn't shocked when Piper walked up to the table with a now familiar blonde by her side. "Hey guys! This is Annabeth the one from my building?" She shot Percy a meaningful look, one he hoped no one else saw. "She's really cool and if you guys aren't nice to her I'll hurt you." With Piper, it's better safe than sorry, so everyone moved to make room for the two of them. "So, Annabeth," Will said, breaking the silence, "where did you move from?" She smiled at him. "California. I've lived in San Francisco my whole life." From there, the conversation flowed to surfing and celebrity sightings, but by the time the bell rang to end lunch, I hadn't managed to introduce myself to Annabeth. I should have known Piper wouldn't allow that.
Right as I was about to walk out of the cafeteria, someone grabbed my arm and pulled me to a stop. No surprise it was Piper. "Hey Percy! You have gym next right." I rolled my eyes. Where did she get a copy of my schedule? Taking that as an affirmation she smiled. "Well, Annabeth and I have gym next too! Don't you want to walk with us?" I smiled at her. "Gods Piper why do you have to be such a meddler?" She smirked. "Shut up you know you love me." I followed her to her locker, where Annabeth was waiting. She looked a little surprised at my appearance but quickly covered it up. "Hey," I said as we reached her. "I'm Percy. I don't think we've met yet." She smiled shyly. "Uh no, but you're in a few of my classes, right?" "Yeah I think that's right." I looked at Piper, who looked as if she was watching her new favorite television show. "Well Pipes, you ready to suffer?" She grinned, and Annabeth smiled too. "As ready as I'll ever be!"

Annabeth POV
Gods, this Percy guy was hot. They had gym together with Piper, and they all ran laps together. Towards the end of the class, when the three of them were done running, Annabeth was trying to recover and make herself semi-presentable. Percy on the other hand, looked good sweaty. He was dripping, and to cool down he took off his shirt. I was not the only person in the gym class who was forced to catch their breath. He had abs, and I mean serious abs. I had heard something about him being a swimmer, and it was obvious in his body. Even Piper, who had told Annabeth she had a super-hot boyfriend, was staring a little bit. Percy seemed to notice that every girl within fifty feet was looking at him. He grinned at Annabeth, slung his top over his shoulder and headed to the showers. Annabeth released a breath.
"See something you like?" Piper was looking at her as she stared after Percy. Annabeth blushed. "He is good looking, I won't deny it." Piper gave her a sideways glance. "You know, Percy is more than a pretty face. He's one of the nicest and most caring people I know." Annabeth smirked. "Gods Piper, are you trying to sell him?" She laughed. "No sorry, I know I'm weird. I just get these feelings about people sometimes, call me crazy. And I don't know, you and Percy, complement each other." I smiled at Piper. "Uh, I appreciate it Piper, but I just got out of a relationship and I'm not really looking for anything." She grinned at me. "When you aren't looking is when you find someone."
