I glance over all of the unfamiliar faces and try to guess their quirk. I used to play this game with my mom all the time!Okay, let's guess...the people that I greeted earlier.
Tenya...Iina...no it's Iida I believe, whatever his name is, has some kind of speed quirk. We were in the same testing grounds for the mock exam. I didn't get to see how his quirk worked exactly, so that'll be interesting to witness during our physical exam today.
Tsuyu Asui. I know that she likes to be called Tsu...she seems pretty cool already! Tsuyu's quirk is definitely the fact that she's a frog. I wonder what she can do...
I continue to scan over the faces looking for a familiar one and I see the kind brown-haired girl. Ochaco Uraraka! I witnessed her quirk in action during the mock test. She can either make things fly or float. Whichever one, it's very aweso--
Someone tapped me on my shoulder, causing me to stop mid-thought. I look up at a guy with extremely pointy teeth.
"Hey, I wanted to introduce myself since I didn't get to. Eijirou Kirishima!"
Wow, this dude is super friendly! I'm relieved that not everyone with strong quirks is like Bakugou.
"Oh...well it's nice to meet you too! My name's (Y/n)." Before we had time to properly chat, I focused my attention on Mr. Aizawa. I don't want to miss anything that will be detrimental to my success today!
"U.A. is known for its 'freestyle' educational system. That applies to us teachers as well. Softball throwing, the standing long jump, the 50-meter dash, endurance running, grip strength, side-to-side stepping, upper body training, seated toe touch. You did all these in middle school, yes? Your standard no-quirks-allowed gym tests." The home room teacher continued to talk about how poor the normal school system is and then tossed a ball to Bakugou. Katsuki seemed to be mumbling to himself and then...
"DIE!!!!" He chucked the ball so far I lost track of it. Everyone was awestruck, just staring at the place where the ball disappeared from view. Some of the faces in the crowd of students looked extremely confused, probably because of the "die" thing. It's no longer surprising for me, but what IS surprising is the distance at which he threw the ball. Mr. Aizawa emotionlessly held up the speedometer(I don't know what that thing is called so bear with me)...705.2 meters!!
After the astonishment came excitement, "ooooh"s, and "aaahh"s. "Woah, awesome!" someone behind me exclaimed. Mr. Aizawa addressed the misconception of the hero course being "fun" in a seemingly menacing tone.
"The one with the lowest score across all eight events will be judges hopeless and will be expelled." The passive aggressive way Mr. Aizawa stated this sent shivers down my spine. Fear permeated through the group as they began to realize the severity of the situation. I'm shaking so much but I'm pumped with adrenaline. It's a weird feeling, like the nervousness is fueling me in a way. Let's do this!
50-meter dash
I may have copied Bakugou and Glitter guy's technique with this one. It took a lot out of me but I managed to propel my self with quick bursts of water. 7.23 to 6.08, a lot better than middle school.
I reach for my toes and I look up to see an enraged Bakugou. He's never seen me use my quirk, has he? He looked as if he would have lunged at me if only he wasn't currently occupied with the next event. I smirk as I'm not only fueled from nervousness anymore. I get to prove that I belong here and I'm not letting him or anyone else take that away from me!
