Chapter 8: Tarred And Feathered

*Sam's POV*
I wake up on a park bench. Two policemen then tried to move me along. I have no memory of where I am, or how I got here. I take the policemen down, and I run into a bar running from the Patrol cars. I scare the bartender, Robin. She tells me the bar is closed. When she learns I have amnesia, she feels bad and tries to help. She wants to take me to a hospital. I refuse. When I see a book on a shelf of H.P. Lovecraft. Clashes of memories start flooding in. I see a hotel called... Nite Owl. I look online and see its two towns over. Robin offers to drive me. When we arrive I already know what room to check. I open the door with a credit card. There's papers and pictures all over the walls, it's an investigation. I see a clipping of Eleanor Visyack missing, and everything goes black.

I remember finding Eleanor bleeding in a alleyway, with Dean, Bobby, and Niki.

Ellen:"The angel, and Crowley they kidnapped me and tortured me for information on purgatory. I broke when the angel took over."
Bobby:"How close are they to getting in?"
Ellen:"They are waiting for the lunar eclipse tomorrow. They have everything they need. They're ritual is... Blood of a virgin, blood of a purgatory monster, and the lunar eclipse."

Before she can tell us where they are, she dies.

Cas appears.

Cas:"Stop interfering already."
Dean:"No."
Cas:"If you back out, I will save Sam when this is over."

We all look at him confused. Cas then touches my head and everything goes black, as he tears down the wall in my head.

I snap back out of the vision. Robin asked me what I remember. I tell her my name is Sam. And then I was with three other people. One a male model type, two and older man, and three a pretty girl in black. I find Bobby's  address book in the hotel and I take the Impala keys off the desk I leave with Robin to the parking lot. I'll tell her good bye in the parking lot. She Warns me that I might not like what I find in Sioux Falls. I hear something that makes me tackle Robin to the ground. Someone who looks like me shot at us. Robin scared for her life jumps in the Impala with me. We head to Sioux Falls. It's then revealed to me that I am in a comatose dream thanks to Cas pulling down my wall.

*Niki's POV*
Dad, Dean, and I have put Sam's unconscious body in the panic room. We are running out of time to stop Cas from opening purgatory. Balthazar  appears. He betrays Cas, and gives us Castiel and Crowley's hiding place. We leave Sam a note in case he wakes up and wonders where we are at.

*Sam's POV*
I have a confrontation with a doppelganger of me. The other Sam reveals that I am unconscious after what Cas did to me. I noticed that the doppelganger is souless me. He tells me that he's here to kill me so that he can take over my body. And that the other me is worse than the souless me. After I kill souless me, I regain memories of my souless times. Robin was a victim that I killed when a demon had her hostage. I apologize to her and she disappears.

*Castiel's POV*
I met up with Crowley, who has the assembled the necessary ingredients for the ritual.
Cas:"I want to negotiate the deal. You get no Souls, and you can either flee... Or die."

He leaves me with the blood needed for the ritual.

*Sam's POV*
I travel to Bobby's and find the other me. He is tortured me. The one left in the cage with Michael and Lucifer. I tried to merge with him but he tells me that I can't handle the memories. But I know I need to wake up. I kill the last me, and my physical body siezes out of control.

*Castiel's POV*
I confront Balthazar, for helping the Winchester's.

Cas:"Dean is coming, and someone among us is a traitor."
Balthazar:"Who?"
Cas:"I don't know, but I need you to investigate."

I then wait till he's distracted enough, and I kill him with my angel blade.

*Niki's POV*
Dad, Dean, and I are at Crowley's hideout. We scope out the building. I keep hoping that Cas will stop this, and that he still Cas. We are in the Impala, when a cloud of demons over takes us, flipping the Impala over with us in it.

*Castiel's POV*
I am still preparing the ritual, when Crowley appears. A cloud of demons surrounds the building. I tried to kill Crowley with my smiting powers, but it fails due to Crowley's new "partner". Raphael. I'm surprised at this. They demand the blood. I throw them the jar, and I leave.

*Sam's POV*
I find the Impala, and see it's all flipped over and wrecked. I get a memory from Lucifer's cage. I fight through it, and headed inside.

*Niki's POV*
Crowley, and Rafael conducting the ritual when, Dad, Dean, and I interrupt. Crowley finishes the ritual, and nothing happens. Cas appears.
Crowley realizes Cas switched the blood out. And that Cas has conducted his own ritual already.

Cas shows us his new "powers" by a flash of energy.

Cas:"You cannot imagine what it feels like to be filled with the power of Millions upon Millions of souls."

Crowley leaves. Raphael is unable to leave. Raphael bags for Mercy.

Raph:"How can you allow Crowley, a demon to escape?"
Cas:"I have plans for Crowley. But none for you."

Cast snaps his fingers and obliterates Rafael. He turns to us.

Cas:"See, I did save you."
Dean:"Yep you did. You should have return the souls now, and disarm yourself."
Cas:"But I still have Rafael's followers to deal with."
Dean:"But you're power is affecting your mind. You could kill us all."
Niki:"Cas, we are your family, we don't want to lose you."
Cas:"I don't have a family anymore. I will not give up the souls."

Suddenly Sam sneaks up behind Cas and stabs him in the back with a angel blade. Nothing happens.

Cas:"Hello Sam. The sword won't work. I am no longer in angel anymore.:
Niki:"Then what are you?"
Cas:"I am your new God. A better one..Bow down and worship me or... Be destroyed."

We looked to him in horror.

Could this be, that my angel is gone? will I ever get him back? I look into his blue eyes, and see nothing but emptiness. He says we are no longer family. I can't help but think if I would've taken him back, that we could have avoided all this. What do we do now?

God, the real God, help us. Help Castiel. We all need you, Lord.
