CHAPTER 20
HAWON FELT her heart pounding hard in her chest, she swallowed the pills down and place the glass down beside the table loudly.
it was three am and she was wide wake, not only because her anxiety were creeping up during the middle of the night but the thunder storm outside was crazy.
after her talk with her father, she had fallen asleep on the couch but her father had to leave due to his work; he had left a note apologising to her.
hawon understood why he needed to leave, so she didn't throw a fit about it. she sat on the couch and buried her head into her palms.
the only sound was from the thunder roaring outside and her clock ticking loudly, she was feeling guilty again.
her mind was racing and all the thoughts asking "what is hyunjin doing?" was running all over her mind, she was worried about him instead when she should be worrying about herself.
hawon return to her room and laid on her bed, the table lamp lights up her room a little. her phone in her hand and she hesitated to press his number.
"hello?" his voice asked the moment he answered. hawon felt herself breaking inside out and she was sobbing quietly.
"are you crying? who's-" all of a sudden it got quiet, hawon was shaking and sobbing into her palm while hyunjin didn't say anything after that.
"hawon." him saying her name made her sob even hard and she let go of her phone and buried her face into her hands.
she calmed herself before grabbing her phone. "sorry- wrong number." she manage to choked out a few words before she hung up.
HYUNJIN WAS wide wake the moment she hung up, he was confused and shock but he was also heartbroken from hearing her cry.
his heart started aching at the thought of her hurting alone because of him, has she mistaken that he moved on from her with wonju?
he hope not because there was no way, he would ever date a girl like wonju. she was more like a sister than someone he'd date, not to mention she was too bratty for his liking.
he tried calling her again but it went straight into voice message every single time, hyunjin was frustrated and angry with himself for not checking the caller before answering.
hyunjin had been getting a lot better since his first session. he was actually getting better when he thought he never could.
the only thing that's keeping him from backing out was hawon, he wanted to get better for her. she was the reason he was doing it.
he still misses her every day, not even a single day did he not think about her or their memories when they were together.
HYUNJIN WAS finally going back to school after three whole weeks, he needed to catch up on his studies before the finals two more weeks from now.
his friends greeted him when he arrived and every female student was thrilled to see their prince back and not to mention he was single again.
but hyunjin even if he was single, his heart was strictly for hawon only. "hey have you seen hawon?" he asked his friends, who frowned at him.
"she hasn't been attending school much. the last time she came, she had a panic attack and was brought home. I doubt she'll come today." hyunjin frowned at his words.
girls were batting their eyelashes at him as he walked pass them but his main focus was on hawon, he had hoped she would attend school today.
fate seems to be on hyunjin's side today because the moment he reached her locker, she was there.
she looked tired and worn out. as if everyone knew what's happening, they all observes the two in silence.
hyunjin walked over to her, causing hawon to flinch and back away. "hawon- what happened to you?" hyunjin asked softly.
"nothing, I'm fine." her raspy voice told him that she had been crying all night and not to mention her eyes were bloodshot red.
"can we- like talk?" hyunjin asked, hawon hesitates to say yes but she agreed anyways.
THE COLD WIND blew around them as they reached the school's roof top. the both of them were standing face to face.
"I've been going to therapy sessions." hyunjin started talking first, hawon was happy for him. he was really trying to get better.
"that's great news." she mumbled, she wish she had some great news too but she didn't.
"I'm getting better, even my doctor says it." hawon felt her heartache, he was getting better but why was she getting worst?
"hawon- I need to tell you the truth- about her." hawon tensed up, she knew what he was talking about.
was she ready to hear about his ex lover? "hyunjin- I'm sorry but I gotta go." she technically wasn't lying, she had a therapy session in an hour.
the look on hyunjin's face made hawon felt bad but she couldn't miss her session. "oh okay, maybe next time." he mumbled and nodded before hawon left.
tears builds up in his eyes as he heard the metal door close shut behind him, his hand rolled into a fist while he cursed at himself softly and wiped his tears away.
"you're gonna be okay." hyunjin mumbled, patting his chest before he walked towards the door and when back to class.
