CHAPTER 27
PEOPLE WEARING expensive clothing was everywhere around the ballroom. hawon felt out of place, her gown was half the price of the gowns they were wearing.
hyunjin had invited her to attend this gala with him as his date, but hawon was starting to regret for agreeing.
her legs were already sore from the heel she was wearing. not to mention the glances and look that were thrown at her by the other jealous ladies that saw her coming with hyunjin.
of course he was popular among the teenagers who attend this gala. hawon couldn't blame them though, her boyfriend was indeed a very gorgeous young man.
a pair of arms wraps around her waist, causing her to snap out from her daze and looked up to find her boyfriend smiling down at her.
"it's so boring without you." hyunjin pouted playfully. hyunjin was dragged away by his mother who wanted him to greet some important people, leaving her alone at this party.
"how was meeting your mother's so called important people?" hawon chuckled at his misery.
"they wouldn't stop asking about the company, I haven't even took over it yet." hyunjin shook his head before sighing, pulling his girlfriend closer.
meanwhile hawon was still chuckling at his misery. "my misery amused you doesn't it?" hyunjin rolled his eyes playfully.
"it sure does, mr.hwang" hawon patted his chest before they were interrupted by his mother, again.
"there you are, I've been looking everywhere for you!" his mother stated, before finally noticing his girlfriend who was pressed against him.
"you invited her?" his mother asked. hawon frowned at the rudeness in her voice and felt hyunjin's hand that was on her waist tighten.
"she's my girlfriend, of course I invited her as my date." his mother was about to say something but was stopped by hyunjin's father who whispered lowly.
"not here, there's people." upon his words, hyunjin's mother shut her mouth and shoot a glare at hawon before she walked away.
hyunjin's father sent an apologetic smile towards the girl before catching up to his wife, who was with a group of ladies that hawon assume that it was her friends.
"my mother is unbelievable." hyunjin shook his head before they sat down on the table, unfortunately with wonju sitting across them.
"hyunjin!" she squealed loudly, causing people around her to cringe from the high pitch voice before sending a glare but she didn't care about them.
her focus was on the boy sitting next to hawon, "yes hello." hyunjin flashed a fake smile before turning to hawon.
"save me from this misery, please." hyunjin mumbled softly but loud enough for hawon to hear causing her chuckled softly.
EVERYONE WAS eating while chatting away. hawon and hyunjin was joking around when suddenly someone place two glass of champagne in front of them.
"wait, we didn't order this." hyunjin pointed at the glasses of champagne. the waiter was about to say something but someone beat him to it.
"that's because I ordered it for you." the both of them turned towards to the voice behind them.
one held a confuse expression while the other one held a shock expression. "jung yeeun." hyunjin mumbled, his face held hurt.
"hello hyunjin, and I assume this is your new girlfriend. nice to meet you, I'm jung yeeun." hawon hesitatingly shook her hand while glancing at hyunjin.
"don't tell me hyunjin didn't tell you who about me?" yeeun stated, causing hawon to grow even more confused than she already was, she turned to looked at hyunjin.
hyunjin avoid eye contact and glared at the girl in front of them, who smiled smugly at hyunjin's cold expression.
"fine I'll tell her myself. I'm yeeun as in hyunjin's deceased ex girlfriend's older sister." she said it with a smirk on her face.
