Wow Hi it's been literally years since I updated but this was saved in drafts so I thought I'd upload in case anyone actually still cared about this story

Gerard told Mikey the whole story, from start to end. All the painful bits and the embarrassingly funny texts, everything. Mikey sat and listened never showing any sign of judgement or disappointment. Then again it was hard to tell when Mikey is feeling anything.
"Well... maybe he just needs some time to properly process it, you don't know how he feels or maybe his phone got taken off him or it broke. There's a million possibilities, Gerard. Give him some time okay? If it's right it will happen. Don't spend every second checking your phone for a message. It'll come in due time." Mikey, while younger than Gerard, was so extremely wise. You'd almost say he had the wisdom of an old man. Gerard took a minute to absorb his brothers words. Due time. He took a deep long breath and exhaled in a sigh
"Okay. You're right. I'll stop hovering by my phone and just remember that what is meant to happen will happen, even if it's painful." Mikey gave his brother a long hug before silently leaving. He knew Gerard had a lot to think about and it was probably best done alone. This was a very important time in Gerard's life and it was up to him on how he was going to handle it.

Two weeks went by. Gerard tried his best to get off the app and stop refreshing the messages. It just felt like if he refreshed the messages something would randomly appear something like "I love you too, Gerard. I always have" but that didn't happen. He just carried on with his life. He distanced himself from Lindsay because he just really couldn't do their friendship at the moment. He just wanted to get through each school day and go home, make a snack to eat then collapse into the safe haven his bed provided him. That had become Gerard's life at this point. School, eat, sleep & repeat.

It was the start of all exams which meant that for the next 3-4 weeks all his classes will hand him full assessments and expect it done and A standard in 5 days, which is basically impossible but welcome to the struggle of high school. It was truly going to be the most stressful month of the year and he needed to work so much harder. He had to study and revise and focus. It was the time of year where kids had mental breakdowns just because of so much schoolwork, him being one of them. So when Gerard's phone made the familiar ding! Noise he just turned it off and put it away, whoever wanted to talk to him would just have to wait he didn't have time for another bland conversation from what's most likely Lindsay or his parents saying they won't be home tonight.

He wouldn't have turned his phone off if he knew just what the message notification had been
