A/N: So, after watching the video from D Man1954 Here Again:
I wanted to talk about the part in particular that has to do with
And Like D Man said, Toho did in fact force them into turning their anime SERIES into simply 3 movies. Which gives reasons to why we have things like pacing issues and ideas that were thought of but never done or fully imagined.
Now to why toho would do this. We haft to look back to the reasons behind the anime trilogy. In the sense that toho wanted them to be something to keep people interested in godzilla until king of the monsters came out in 2019. Now, I get it, toho wanted to keep fans satisfied and not make us wait two or Three years without much of godzilla related material after shin godzilla.
But, when you stop and think about it, Kong: Skull Island technically counts as godzilla related material since not only was a film sharing the same universe with the legendary godzilla and it a film leading up to it's own version of godzilla facing kong, but kong, in a way, is a creature established in Toho's series. In King Kong vs Godzilla and King Kong Escape's. Plus, Skull Island kinda even had the elements of a godzilla film. And even though we would haft to wait a year or so, we had the patience to wait. We've done so before. When we first got the announcement of shin gojira, we were excited, but we knew we would haft to wait until it was out to do so.
So, my question about the godzilla anime trilogy is. What if Toho had allowed them to make the godzilla anime a series rather than 3 movies and the ideas they had were able to be fully realized?
