Lost and Found

Chapter 10

"Zoe?" Allura called out for the small blonde, she was becoming increasingly worried about the girl.

"Zoe where are you?"

Allura walked by a stack of crates but stopped as she heard a soft sniffle, she peered over the top of the crates and sighed as she saw Zoe's fluffy ponytail. She pulled the crate back a bit so she could see Zoe's full body.

"Zoe..." Allura knelt down to Zoe's level as the blonde lifted her head from her knees. Her eyes were puffy from crying

"I didn't mean to say those things allura, I didn't mean them..." Zoe's voice cracked a bit as she spoke and allura felt like her heart was going to break.

"Oh Zoe, come here" Allura opened her arms for Zoe, the girl hesitantly hugged allura.

"I know that the thought of not going back to earth is scary and I'm sure Ami understands that but if you stayed and became a paladin of voltron, you would be saving the universe" Allura rested her chin on Zoe's head gently as she spoke. She didn't want to force it upon the girl; she was obviously still scared from her kidnapping.

Zoe pulled herself away from allura much to the Alteans dismay. "Is Ami okay?"

Allura's eyebrows furrowed slightly "oh um yes I believe Keith went after her, why?"

Zoe stood up quietly. "Ami acts strong, but she cares and feels more than she'd care to admit... sometimes I wish that she'd just tell someone how she feels"

Allura stood up next to the blonde. "she's protecting you, it's only natural that she hides her own fear from you"

Zoe let out an airy chuckle "not all her fears" a small smile now adorned Zoe's face and allura felt glad that she'd managed to cheer the younger girl up.

Ami stared at the identical blades that she and Keith held. "What does it mean?" she asked, slightly stupidly in her opinion like Keith was gonna know what it meant... oh god please don't let him be her secret brother or something.

"It means that you're somehow connected to the blade of Marmora" he furrowed his eyebrows as he rested his chin in his hand.

"What's a blade of Marmora?" she asked as she inspected the blade in her hands .

"Not a what, a who" Ami raised an eyebrow as she looked at Keith with uncertainty.

"What are you talking about?" Keith turned away from her and started walking back from where they'd come from. Ami jogged to catch up with him,

"Yo Keith, who's the blade of Marmora?" Keith sighed and started explaining;

"The blade of Marmora is a group of galra rebels, they go undercover in the empire and report back to their base" Ami frowned and grabbed Keith's arm causing him to stop.

"So what do they have to do with me?" her voice was slightly shaky, up until today she hadn't even known that aliens existed and now here she was about to become a part of a team, who had giant robot lions and were supposed to save the entire galaxy.

"Well the blade responds to you...which can only mean one thing... you're part Galra"

"Shall we head back now?" Allura asked, Zoe's face paled and she hung her head in embarrassment

"I made a fool of myself, didn't I?" Allura was slightly confused but put a hand on Zoe's shoulder and shook her head at the young blonde.

"No, everyone was just... shocked at your outburst" she chuckled nervously as Zoe looked up with a deadpan expression.

"Well okay maybe just a tiny bit but overall it mostly shock" Allura felt a bit helpless in this situation and shrugged her shoulders hopelessly at her.

Zoe let out a small sigh and shook her head, a smile slowly making its way to her face again. "I'm sure it'll be fine..." Zoe said as she looked at the space princess grinning at her,

"Fabulous, let's go then" she started walking away from Zoe leaving her behind, Zoe hurried behind her as they made their way back to the control room.
