You can't help falling in love

"It was a car accident, wasn't it?" I asked, remembering how she was so attentive in the car.

"Yup." She said with a sigh and laid her head on my shoulder. I didn't know what to do so I just put my arm around her, and closed my eyes. Hearing the sound of the waves crashing against each other and the horses galloping on the ocean sand. I looked to my side and saw that Veronica was almost asleep. I nudged her but all she did was groan.

"What?" She said sleepily.

"C'mon we have to go home, here I'll drive." I said and picked her up. She wrapped her arms around my neck and snuggled her head in my chest. When we reached the car, I opened the passenger seat and gently sat her in the car. Then I hopped into the driver's seat and turned on the GPS, considering I don't know where we are. Once I saw the house, I parked the car. She was sound asleep, so I didn't want to wake her. I picked her up and knocked on her front door, since I wouldn't be able to climb the ladder while holding her. The outside light turned on, and a lady opened the door. She wasn't startled to see me, and actually let me in the house. She showed me where Veronica's room was and I laid her on her bed to sleep and quietly shut the door behind me.

"So where did she take you?" She asked me as I sat down on the couch.

"Where her father used to take her." I said and I could see the sadness in her eyes.

"Oh, well that's where she takes all her first dates." She said and chuckled.

"What? I just met her today. I live next door." I said, first date? Was that really a date?

"So you're the new neighbors, well I'm Melody." She said and I shook her hand.

"I'm Shawn, Shawn Mendes." I said and then she gasped.

"Shawn Mendes? The boy from vine?" She asked her smile getting brighter.

"Yeah, I guess that's me." I said laughing.

"Well, it was nice to meet you Shawn. You should go home and get some rest, there's school tomorrow!"  She said and we made our way to the front door.

"Yes, I might as well. Goodnight miss?" I questions not knowing Veronica's last name.

"Just call me Melody. Goodnight Shawn." She said smiling, and I left for my house, it wasn't that far since we live next to each other. As I got into my bed, I wondered, how did her mother know who I was?
