The next morning Jack woke to find The Doctor awake and dashing about, not unusual.

"The T.A.R.D.I.S. made breakfast if you're hungry," Ten said without looking at the Captain. Jack nodded slowly walking to the kitchen. He was still half asleep. When he walked into the T.A.R.D.I.S. kitchen he smiled at the warm coffee, made just the way Ianto did, and the short stack of waffles on a plate. Taking a sip of the coffee Jack tried to fully wake up. He ate the waffles and slowly finished off his coffee. The captain walked back into the control room fully awake and smiling at The Doctor. The Doctor was tinkering with the consul and didn't notice Jack's entrance.

"Anything I can do?" Jack asked watching The Doctor.

"No, I'm almost done," Ten said as he finished what he was doing, "there done."

Jack smiled, "I'm sure sexy is grateful."

"Of corse she is. My most faithful companion I've got to take care of her just as she takes care of me," The Doctor smiled lovingly placing a hand on the center engine.

Jack looked around the T.A.R.D.I.S., "ya she is pretty great."

"I ever tell you the library has a swing pool?" The Doctor asked Jack.

"Once, remember you Rose and I went for a swim but we ended up just reading as we sat in the water," Jack smiled at the memory.

"Oh yes that was a good day," the timelord smiled.

"Until Rose dropped her book in the water only to find out the books aren't water proof," jack laughed.

The Doctor chuckled remembering Rose's surprised face. It was a fun day that made Ten's hearts swell with joy.

"Still haven't found waterproof books, not for a lack of trying though," Ten said relaxing into the jump seat.

"Surprised you haven't just invented them," Jack joked.
"I've tried believe me," The Doctor said pointing at Jack with a smirk.

"Hopefully someday they will be a reality," Jack beamed.

Ten jumped up and started dashing about again, flipping switches, pressing a few buttons, and looking at the monitor a few times. Jack stood back and watched wondering what was going though the time lord's minds.
"How about a day on the rift?" Ten asked as the T.A.R.D.I.S. took off.
Jack held onto the side railings, "sounds fun."
Soon after the ship landed, and all was normal and quiet. Jack and Ten spent the day cleaning the T.A.R.D.I.S. and reading. It was comfortable and easy as though this was always their lives.
