Corbyn x Jack

a/n: so when I tried typing Corbyn on my computer, it auto corrected to Corncob. Gotta love auto correct. Also, I will be taking requests so put in the comments what any ideas you have! Thanks and enjoy!

Jack POV

Standing behind the control panel, I'm able to see the path the ship will take. The space station is near silent, everyone holding their breath, waiting to see if the rocket will take flight. I move my rings from finger to finger, massaging the stress out of my hands. We have worked tirelessly for years to accomplish this mission. Hours of our lives were devoted to putting an American up in the sky, and to space. But to me, the most important part about this expedition is making one boy's dream come true. Corbyn, my best friend/ boyfriend, pilots the rocket that sits outside the station. Reporters crowd around the launch pad, asking questions and making predictions about the upcoming flight.

"Ten minutes till liftoff!" the speaker announces. I'm lost in my fears and worries as the clock starts clicking. Minutes pass until it's down to seconds. Seconds until we make history, or break millions of hearts.

"Ten, nine, eight, seven, six!" chant the massive crowds outside and at their homes. I send up a silent prayer that the ship runs smoothly and I don't lose the one most important thing to me.

"Five! Four! Three! Two! One!" Liftoff. The massive roar of the rockets fills our ears and cheers erupt around me, but this isn't over yet. Corbyn comes over the speaker.

"Alright team. Let's get this ship in the air!" his voice transfers to each of the team's earpieces. We continue to prep for the trip into space and measure how fast and how much pressure the rocket is contracting.

Suddenly sirens blare throughout the station. Curses flow from all directions. As for me, I'm trying to reach Corbyn, but he keeps cutting out.

"Corbyn? Corbyn!" I shout into my earpiece.

"Jack?" He answers.

"Oh thank God! Are you okay? What's happening!" I start to pace the floor.

"It's heating up in here. I don't think we're going to make it." His voice breaks at the last line.

"No! Corbs, you'll be okay. Just hold on!"

"No. Jack. I can't do anything now. Just know that I- I love you." My breath catches in my throat. He loves me.

"I love you too Corbyn. Please don't leave me!" Tears roll down my face as I plead with anyone to do something, anything. Everything to save him.

"I'll miss you Jack. Take care of everyone for me. I love you, never forget that. Goodbye Jack." I can hear his tears through my headset.

"No. You can't go, don't leave me!" Static fills my ears and an explosion racks the air around the building. Screams fill the air.

"No!" I scream. Dejected faces surround me, trying to turn off the sirens, fix whatever can be fixed. But no one really pays attention to me. I can imagine the thousands of faces at home, utterly disappointed in us, in me. I just lost my best friend, and it was partly my fault.

I sink to the floor, waterfalls soaking my face. Cries of pain and anger echo in the building, but no one can do anything now. No one can fix this boy's broken dream; no one can fix our broken hearts; no one can bring him back. At least he's among the stars.

a/n: RIP Corbyn. We will always love you... :(

And just a reminder, you can request anything you want to read in the comments. Love you all! Goodbyeeeee <3
