Corbyn's POV
Daniel has his arm slung over my shoulder, and is pointing out hot girls as we walk down the high school hallways. It's junior year, and so far I've never had a girlfriend. But this year Daniel is set on finding the one for me. Honestly, it all sounds a bit contrived, but no amount of begging can get Daniel to stop his search for my first girlfriend. Most guys in my position would feel lucky. Daniel is super popular and knows almost every girl in the school. If anyone can get me a girlfriend, it'll be him. I'm more of a meek person, not to mention a little bit shy. I can't picture anyone who'd want to date a nerd like me, but I guess if Daniel is willing to get me a girl, I'll be willing to date her.
Now he points out a girl a year older than us.
"That's Gracie. She's super hot, and single..." Daniel winks at me, so I can't tell if he really thinks I have a chance or not... Oh, great. Now Daniel steers me up to her and introduces us.
"Hey pretty lady. I have one eligible bachelor right here, perfect for the taking!" I blush and turn to Gracie.
"Hey, I'm sorry about Daniel. We'll be going now..." then I drag Daniel back to my locker.
"Hey Man! What were you thinking?!" My face is heating up with embarrassment and anger, and Daniel starts to look a bit guilty.
"Sorry Corbs, I just thought you could use a girl in your life." He trails off.
Suddenly I slam him against the locker, holding the collar of his shirt.
"Don't you see?" I hiss. "I don't want a girl, I want YOU!" He stares at me in shock, and I suddenly feel embarrassed. Defeated, I slowly release Daniels shirt and hang my head on his shoulder. I can't watch his reaction.
"Y-you like," he pauses. "Me?" His voice breaks, and I bring myself to look up and see the dawning realization on his face that he got me all wrong.
I shake my head up and down, saying yes. I literally just told you I like you, is it that hard to comprehend?
Letting go of him completely, I start walking away.
"You know what, just forget it. Forget I said anything." But before I can get too far away, he grabs my hand.
"Wait, Corbyn." I look him in the eye. "I'm sorry if I seem shocked, it's just, I didn't know you were, um, into guys. I mean, I guess I kind of hoped you were, because, well, now I'm rambling, but I just wanted you to know..."
"What?" I whisper.
"I like you too." And then I'm up against the lockers, being kissed by the boy of my dreams. Who knew he would feel this way too?
