You felt defeated as you trudged your way to Gavin's car, your head down the whole way. You opened the passenger door and got in. Once in you just sat there;spaced out. You could swear the car was completely silent until you felt Gavin grab onto your arm;his grip tight but gentle at the same time.

"You okay? I was calling your name...."

"Oh," your mind drifted a bit but you quickly adjusted in your seat and cleared your throat, "Sorry."

"Seriously, Y/n, are you okay." he asked again

"Yea. I'm..fine." You let this broken smile find it's way onto your face before you looked away to grab your seat belt and put it on. You expected him to correct you with your lying like Connor does, but he didn't. He sighed and loosened his hand from around your arm.

"You get used to it. It's hard seeing that shit...and there's nothing wrong with that, it should he hard. It just means you're human and you feel sympathy and empathy." he attempted to reassure you

You weakly smile; this time it was genuine, "Thanks."

"When I first started it was a bit difficult. I mean I had been trained but the real thing...it's different."

"Yeah..." you sighed and stared out the window as everything passed by. You should be used to this, and you felt like you weren't even good enough for this since you couldn't even do your own job. You were so unfocused you didn't even notice Gavin get out and walk around to your side until your door was pulled open.

"Wh-what are you doing?" you looked at him

"I'm coming in. Is that okay?"

"I....guess." you look down and unbuckle your seat belt

His hand extends to you and you take it softly, he pulls you up onto your feet and closes your door before heading toward the apartment building,

"Which one is it?" he asks

"Upstairs. Room 216." you mumble and he nods. Helping you up the stairs and down the hall. You take the key from your pocket and unlock the door. He lets you go in before him so he can shut the door for you. The lights come on and you move your way to the couch, sitting on it at first before stretching across it to lie down.

"Do you want anything?" he quietly asks you

"Just water, please."

"Alright." he walks over to your kitchen and finds the cups himself and pours you a glass of water. He brings it to you and you sit up to take a drink, you let a deep breath escape you and you calm yourself a bit, "You can sit down." you slightly smile and scoot over for him

"Oh! Yea. Thanks." he sits next to you and it's a bit awkward before you speak again

"We can...watch something," you hand him the remote, "Whatever you want."

"Are you sure that's a good idea? You probably won't like what I watch." he chuckles

"Whatever, just pick something! How about something...like," you think on what'd be good to watch at the moment, "A comedy!"

"Okay." he starts to go through movies

"Don't make me regret letting you pick." you put your feet up on the couch to hug your legs

he smiled and let a soft chuckle escape him, "Why are you such a bully to me?"

"I'm not bullying you." you roll your eyes but smile

"Well you really hurt my feelings." he dramatically says

You snicker, "Aw. Poor thing," you pout sarcastically, "Just pick something."

He sighs, "You dont even care." he chooses something that surprisingly looks good and you both proceed to watch it. It was mostly a comedy that did it's job considering some scenes made both of you either chortle or break out into laughter. When yhe credits were on you suggested f9r you both to watch another. Gavin agreed to this and you both decided to have a intermission, you took the jacket he was wearing and hug it up by the door.

"Do you want popcorn?" you asked as you stretched, he nodded and you headed over to the kitchen to pop some. You put it in the microwave and told him you'd be back before you went into your bedroom to change into some pajamas. You hear the microwave beeping and quickly get yourself together to get the popcorn, you get surprised when you see Gavin getting ready to open the microwave.

"Oh i could've got it!" You spoke

"You could grab a bowl?" he suggested with a slight smile

"Yea, okay." you opened your cabinet to grab a large bowl, you rolled your eyes once seeing that your large bowls were on the highest shelf. You had your sister's husband to thank for that, you sighed.

"What's wrong?"

"I'm too lazy to get on the counter to reach the bowls...get them for me?"

"Yeah, sure." he laughs at you quietly

"I'm not short it's just really high up."  You scoot over a bit so he can grab the bowl for the popcorn

He brings down the bowl and holds it out to you, you grab it but it doesn't slip his grip so you look up at him;confused.
His eyes lock with yours and a silence falls upon you both and your apartment, he slowly lets go and you set the bowl down on the counter but you still make eyecontact. You're ready to ask him if everything is okay until he leans in, you don't have time to react and your lips meet. Your eyes widen and you feel his hands wrap around your hips, you snatch his hands away and push yourself away from him.

"Gavin...I--"

"I'm sorry it's just--"

"I...I think you should leave." You mumble

"Y/n...it won't happen again. We can watch another movie--" he moves a bit closer but you back away

"No. I just... I can't right now, please I just need you to leave right now."

He nods in understanding and his head slightly drops as he heads to the door, you watch as he grabs his jacket and leaves;closing the door behind him.

You let a sigh escape your lips once you're left in your apartment ,alone.
