Hey guys! So, the new gem is coming in this chapter! My friend and artist, Kiwi, has been dying for this moment since we created this character. I'm dying of excitement too so I'll be quiet so you guys can read. XD
-Luna's POV-
I fell flat on my face, moaning as I got up. "I can't jump like that!" I protested as the gems landed gracefully as the song ended. The gems were trying to teach us how to dance for a fusion. But...Steven, Circo and I weren't doing that all of a great job. Finally, Circo threw his hands in the air and said, "I'm done." He marched out of the house and nearly ripped the door opened, slamming it behind him.
I looked at the door, concern thoughts running through my head. I glanced at Garnet and she said to everybody, "That's enough for today." And on that note, I ran out of the house to go find Circo. He didn't get too far; he was sitting at the shore of the beach, staring out at the ocean. I sat next to him and we sat in silence for a bit.
Circo broke the silence, asking, "Why are we doing this?"
"Doing what?" I asked.
"This. Trying to be crystal gems like Garnet and the others. Why can't we live like normal humans, and not suffer with the fact that we won't ever be human, no matter how hard we try."
I watched as the sun started to set over the ocean. I sighed, "We do this, because we need to know what its like. Sure, it's not normal. And sure, were not fully human. But we need to know about the gems so we can help them and protect our friends."
Circo sighed, "It's just hard sometimes."
"I know," I replied, looking at my gem. It gleamed in the fading light of the sun. Suddenly, Circo pulled something out of his pockets. I looked at saw that it was his mother's magic feet jewelry. He started putting them on his feet, and I gave him a questioning look.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"I want to try these out," he said, putting on the other one. Once he had them on, he started walking towards the water. He stopped at the very edge and place one foot out on the waves. Where his foot should've gone into the water, the water stilled and his foot touched the water, as if it was solid. He put pressure on his foot and stood on the water. There was a small circle around where he stood and the waves washed around it.
I stood up, shocked. "That's awesome!" I said. I decided to join him and ran out on the water. I focused my water ability to my feet and was able to run out on the water. Circo looked at me, surprised, but then started running after me, and we eventually started a game of tag on the water. We stopped, gasping for air. I then heard music being played and looked. Steven was with Connie on the beach and they were dancing. I smiled, "they're so cute together."
"Yeah," Circo said. He started tapping his foot to the beat and, next thing I knew, he was dancing. I laughed at the way he was dancing and I started dancing to the music. At one point, I spun and slipped, losing my concentration. I knew I would fall in the water. But Circo caught my hand, and pulled me into a dip position for dancing. Both of our faces were red, but Circo started laughing. I smiled and laughed too. Suddenly, a blue and yellow light started to glow bright, and next thing we knew, everything went black.
-???'s POV-
My head was pounding and Luna moaned. Or...Circo moaned? Luna opened her eyes and...so did Circo. Both of us looked down and and saw that her feet and....his feet? were a different color from before, and that they were covered in red blotches.
"Circo? what's going on? Why are you hurt?!" Luna said, or was it Circo?, scared and confused.
"Me?! I'm great!" Circo said. Wait, maybe Luna? "But, are you hurt?!"
