When we got out of the elevator Saquon was standing outside my door. "Liv who's that?"lai asked. "One of dads teammates."I sighed. "Hey liv, I was just checking on you because you didn't call me back and you were pretty drunk last night."he laughed. "Thank you but I'm fine."I smiled unlocking my door. "So did you think about what I asked you last night?"he asked. I instantly felt guilty, "saquon you're and amazing guy. I'm so sorry I lead you on but jalen and I are gonna give it one more shot."I explained. "I understand um I hope you guys work out."I nodded. "We can be cool though okay."I smiled. "I'll see you around."he scoffed walking down the hallway. I went inside and laid on the couch next to lai. "You ok?"she laughed. "I really don't even know."I sighed. "Okaaaay So tomorrow after my practice can we go get my nails done and then I want this cute ring I saw."lai lit up. "What ring."l asked. Lai usually doesn't ask me to buy her things but when she does it's either because our parents won't get it for her or she's not allowed to have it. "Well actually it's a ring and a bracelet. I saw this Gucci's ring I wanted it's not that expensive it like 250 and then a Cartier love bracelet."she smiled. "Uhhhh you're to young to have a Cartier bracelet maybe when you're like 13 I'll get you one I don't know but not while you're 10."

"I'll be 11 soon."she said. "You can get the ring but the bracelet is gonna have to wait."I laughed. "Fine." She gave in. "And that  doesn't mean go ask trey. I know how you operate."I laughed. "He already said no."she laughed. "I can't with you."I shook my head. I went upstairs in my room and saw that my mom was calling me. "Hey Mom. I was being disrespectful earlier and I apologize for it." I sincerely said. I hate when I get like that towards my mom. "I think I was being insensitive about your situation and I'm sorry but I was trying to come to you as your mother." She apologized. "You don't have to apologize mom you know what's best for me." "So what's been going on. I could tell earlier you had stuff to get off your chest."she laughed. "Jalen and I are gonna give it one more shot." I nodded waiting for her response. She took a deep breath"If Jalen keeps hurting you why do you keep getting back with him and trying to make things work?"she asked. "Jalen has had time to reflect on his actions and you know we had our space apart the love for eachother never died.  Also we set boundaries and rules until I trust him again."I tried my best to explain. "You might have love for him but DO you actually love him?"she said making me think. "I'm trying to love him ."I shrugged. "No relationship should ever have to be that way. You can do whatever you want and I will support you but if you try and force the love between you guys your gonna end up hurt."she said. "I feel like he's really changed though."i said. "Do what you feel is right."she said. "I'll see you tomorrow."I hung up trapped in my thoughts yet again.

JALEN POV

I got to my dads house so he could see Nyx. He's been begging liv and I to bring him to Miami so now that I have the time I brought him to not only see my dad but my aunts and uncles. I rang the door bell and my grandma opened the door and lit up. "Oh my goodness. I didn't know you were coming. And you brought my great grand."she squealed picking Nyx up. "Where's your girlfriend?"she asked. "We haven't been together in 4 years grandma."I laughed. "Boy and why not."she put her hands on her hip. "Because........."I didn't want to tell her about my infidelity because I know she wouldn't let me hear the end of it. "We just not."i shrugged. "Boy I've known you your whole life I know when you lying."she laughed. "Where is everyone?"I asked. "The kids are in the yard playing and your cousins and everyone else is outside too." "Daddy can I go play. "Nyx asked. "Yea. You feeling okay man?"I checked him for a fever. "Mhmm." He nodded. "Ight go ahead."he ran off.

I walked in the back yard filled with family I haven't seen in forever. "There go Hollywood."my uncle laughed. "Maaan ain't nothin Hollywood about me."I laughed joining them at the table. "My question is, where is yo pretty ass baby momma?" My cousin JC asked. "Chill out, shes in New York doing her thing."I knew exactly where this was going. "Why y'all not together again?"My dad asked. "Look. We're working on us Ight. We're not together we're not apart we're gonna start over from scratch to get back to where we were before I fucked up."I explained. "I knew you loved shorty but I didn't know you LOVED shorty."JC said making everyone laugh. "She gave me my son. I'll always have love for her."I said. "Speaking of, where is my grandson." "Yea I wanna meet my bad ass lil cousin."jc added. "Nyx. Come here lilman."i called him over. "Yes?"he ran over. I introduced Nyx to a few of his cousins. "How old are you now man 5 or 6."jc asked him. "I'm four."Nyx held up his fingers. "Damn you big as hell. You play ball?"jc said. "Don't curse around him."I said. "My fault." Jc laughed. Nyx looked up at me and shrugged, "tell him you start football next Wednesday man."I laughed. "Can I go back and play?"Nyx asked. "Yea gimme your shoes because if you mess these up mommy's gonna kill me."i untied his shoes and sent him off to go play. "You want more kids?"My dad asked me. "I want a little girl real bad."I nodded. "No you don't, they are so stressful it's crazy."My uncle laughed. "I can manage."I took a sip of beer. "You say that now but when she starts dating....that's another story."he shook his head. "I'll let liv deal with that part."i laughed. "Am I the only who doesn't know who liv is or what she looks like?"My uncle announced. "She fine as hell man. You know obj the wide receiver, his daughter, jay show this nigga a picture. "jc lit up.

"This is her and my mom."I slid my phone down the table."Boy you dumb as hell. How you lose her."My uncle gave me my phone back. "Twice...."my dad said under his breath. "Oh nah nigga run my fade."he stood up. "Chill I'm working on it."I laughed. "Next time you come down here you need to bring her."He said. "Hell nah. Y'all don't know how to act."I laughed.

Nyx and I hung out a little more until he started getting fussy. "You ready to go?"I picked him up. "Noooooooo."he whined. "Cut that mess out. You just sleepy."I laughed. We said our good byes and got in the car. "Daddy im hungry."he said as we passed a McDonald's. "You just ate. " "but I want French fries and nuggets."he whined. "Aye stop all that whining man, just talk."I know that whining mess works on liv but not me. "We're almost at the hotel. When we get there you can call mommy and get ready for bed Ok." "I'm not sleepy."he shrugged. "Yes you are."I argued. "No I'm not." "Yes you are you just don't know it."I laughed at his stubbornness.
