Love or hate?( A difficult choice)

Chapter 8

We went down the hall and took a right turn going into a completely different hallway. This one is more bright with light brown walls and paintings hanging everywhere. We enter a huge room with a sofa set perfectly arranged at one side and a bed on the other side. It had everything a dresser a balcony bathroom, a walk in closet, kitchen and a dining table on the side. It was like a complete apartment with all the necessities "Here she is". When I hear Kevin's voice only then I notice two women sitting on the couch. One was a fairly older lady may be in her late forties with blond shoulder length hair and green eyes. The other was a younger lady more like a girl of around my age. She had long red hair and her eyes were a darker shade of green.

Kevin exited the room leaving me in their company. The older lady stepped forward "Hello, I am Lisa I will be teaching you everything you need to know and this is my assistant Cathy", she said pointing towards the younger girl.

"Nice to meet you, I am Ava ", I smiled politely at them offering my hand to shake, after all it's not their fault that I am stuck here. Lisa smiled warmly at me taking my hand to shake. When I turn to Cathy she is looking at me with judgemental eyes from top to bottom, as I offer my hand to shake her face turns into a disgusted one and she ignores my hand walking backwards to sit down on the couch.

"Ignore her sweetheart she is a little moody" Lisa said waving her hands around. "I must say you are a beautiful young girl, you just need to learn to present yourself. So what do you want to start with?" She asks enthusiastically rubbing her hands together.

I should ask her some questions I might get some clues as to what this is all about. But I have to be subtle about it, I don't know what she might tell the golden boy. I look up at her smiling and shrug my shoulders. "Hmmm, let's start with some dresses and make up, shall we?" The smile on her face is so contagious I cannot help but smile back. We walked towards the closet together and she started looking through hundreds of dresses that hung there. "Okay so when you are at home doing nothing what type of dress you will prefer to wear"?

I frowned a little and said "I will rather wear jeans or something it is more comfortable you know". A loud snort sounded behind us and then only I noticed that Cathy has followed us in here. I looked back at Lisa conscious of myself now but she just glared at Cathy and smiled warmly at me.

"You are definitely right about comfort but when you are living with the Master you need to be best dressed at all times. So I will tell you about different types of dresses you should wear for different occasions, say at dinners something simple but elegant, at balls or parties something more designer and this went on for another half an hour of her talking and me listening. Age then told me to select something to wear on a normal day. I went through the clothes and chose the simplest of all these marvellous dresses. This was a simple yellow dress which went till my knees and had a simple bow on the right top side on one of it's spaghetti sleeves.

When I turned to Lisa with it she smiled at me politely "I knew you would choose something like that now I know why the Master likes you you are a very simple girl Ava".

Like Me?? "Like Me ?"I boomed, "Are you crazy? Who kidnaps the person they like?" I snapped rudely. Lisa flinched back a little surprised by the sudden change. I at once felt guilty it is not her doing after all, I calmed my nerves down "I am sorry, I did not mean to snap at you".

"It's okay"she said giving me a small smile. "You see Darmen, I mean the Master is very eager to teach you everything about the Royal culture that is why I am here. I have never seen him so agitated". His name is Darmen, wow it suits his personality. Wait did she say royal culture my eyes widened with realisation, He Is Royalty!! Prince Darmen Ross, the Prince of Cape Rio. My mind just stopped working prince, royalty...prince.. Darmen I started hyperventilating. Shit I will never be able to escape, he kidnapped me but why. I am stuck here forever now, What if he kills me or just keep me here. I felt water on my face and blinked rapidly looking around I saw I was now sitting on the couch with Lisa hovering over me with a concerned face. "You completely zoned out I was scared".

I took deep breaths "I am sorry , I..I just". I could not complete my sentence. "It's alright dear, I understand".i sighed loudly "so I am at the Prince's palace, do you know why I am here though. She shook her head with an apologetic smile. I just nodded taking the glass of water on the table and gulping it down.

"So what do we do now? Should I wear the dress or something". Lisa smiled at me and handed me the dress to change. Without a word I got up and went into the closet room to change. It's better to just continue with this grooming class for now. I came out dressed in yellow, Lisa instantly came to my side guiding me to the dresser , "we will start with some makeup now, though you don't need much of it". I nodded and her smile widened.

The class continued with her dressing me up for every occasion till Kevin came in and informed us that lunch was about to be served. It's was only then that I realised how hungry I am,like on cue my stomach growled, I smiled sheepishly embarrassed what you can't blame me I did not had breakfast today. We walked towards the dining room together all four of us. When we entered Darmen was already seated with a plate of food in front of him. Lisa went up to him and bowed with a smile, he acknowledged her with a stiff nod. "How rude" I muttered under my breath. Someone

nudged me on my side when I looked up Thomas was giving me a look which meant he heard what I said and did not like it. I just rolled my eyes and ignored him. I went ahead and took the seat furthest from Darmen on the long table. Everyone looked at me some with fear others with disappointment, I completely ignored them waiting for my food.

Everyone took their seats then, Cathy sitting herself beside Darmen. I frowned a little but it vanished instantly when a plate of food was kept in front of me. I grabbed my plate and started eating, I was really hungry. The room was quiet when a shrilly voice echoed "the food is definitely delicious for sure, but some people just do not know how to eat like a normal human, even pigs are better than them". Lisa glared at Cathy, stood up pulling Cathy up with her she apologised to me leaving the room. I just shook my head and went back to my food I don't care what she thinks I am still hungry.

After I finished I got up and looked at Thomas "could you please escort me to my room, I want to take a nap. Lisa told me I don't have any more class till tomorrow". He looked at Darmen when he did not say anything he stood up and started walking towards the door me following behind without a word.

Wait. A voice boomed loudly everyone froze on their spot, I turn around slowly to see Darmen rise from his seat. You can go Thomas I would like to talk to Miss Greene here I will call you if required. All others can go now" he ordered with authority.

Now with only Darmen and I here the room was full of tension. I crossed my arms on my chest and waited for him to speak. "How was the class did you learn anything"? He asked in a cold voice.

"It went well". He started walking out of the room "follow me". I scowled at him but followed anyways. We were walking side by side "You do know where you are and who I am , right?" Why is he so cold his eyes are so dull and hard. He did not look at me, he was just staring ahead the whole time.

"Yup, Lisa told me.".

"Good so you are aware that you cannot escape, so no need to try". We kept walking in silence till we reached the double doors. I stepped inside then turned to face him.

"Why?" I asked in a small voice.

When he did not answer for a while I thought he is not going to reply "Because soon you are going to be the Princess, my would be Wife". Before I could process what he just said the double doors slammed shut leaving me frozen on the spot.
