Hello carol lovers, gingerbread makers, and snowflake fans, I'm Holly the Elf! Er...I mean.. Holly Winter (the elf).  If you haven't noticed already, I love Christmas!  It's been my favorite holiday since, well, ever!  I just love everything about it!  The lights, the atmosphere, and the SINGINGGGGGGGG!  Sorry I get excited.  I am the kind of person who listens to Christmas music and watches Christmas movies year-round.  The holiday season is pretty much my whole world and it has cost me some....friends.  Haha just kidding!  I do have some boundaries when it comes to Christmas.  If I didn't I would probably be without friends or family and living on the street as a Salvation Army Santa Claus.  Luckily that hasn't happened...yet.  Elf is my all time favorite Christmas movie because Buddy the Elf is my spirit animal.  My Christmas spirit animal that is.  He just seems like the best kind of person who always sees the best in people.  And "smiling is his favorite!"  I love singing but one thing I don't love: musical theatre.  I don't know what it is, well actually I do, but it just seems like it's all staged and fake.  Whereas Christmas spirit is 100% real, musical theater is just plastic. I'm sure the actors work "really hard," but I honestly don't see why they would spend all that time on learning lines and songs.  Just a thought: maybe they should apply those skills to Christmas movies.  There are Christmas movie musicals and if it's a good movie (like Elf) there are usually no mistakes!  In theater, there are constant mistakes like forgetting lines.  In movies those all get edited out, and I mean, it ruins the Christmas magic if there are mistakes.  The Christmas atmosphere, at least in my mind, should be almost perfect.  I'm kind of a perfectionist in all things especially Christmas of course. On stage, there are so many things that can go wrong and you have to take risks. That is not my cup of hot cocoa.  On the flip side, if someone made an onstage musical about Christmas, I would definitely watch it.  It probably wouldn't capture the complete essence of the holiday atmosphere because it's the stage, but other than that it could come out decent.

My best friend and sister-from-another-mister, Ivy (I know crazy right?) puts up with my addiction with Christmas, but I can tell it sometimes gets on her last nerve. (Think Jovie in Elf.  That's pretty much Ivy's personality.  she tolerates Buddy but isn't completely in love with the holiday herself.)  She's pretty normal and blends into the crowd.  I normally don't allow that because I am so loud and obnoxious.  The saying "the holly and the ivy" fits us perfectly.  We go everywhere together.   There is honestly never a day when we don't hang out.  I'm surprised we aren't sick of each other by now.  We've gone to school together since preschool, and we've been going to the same schools ever since.  One year I had to change schools in the middle of 6th grade.  I didn't know what I was going to do without Ivy at my school.  A week later there she was at my new school!  Her parents decided that our old school was too far from where they live, and they randomly decided to go to my school!  6th grade was hard, but I can't imagine it without Ivy there with me.  From that moment we were clearly inseparable.  Like a present and a bow!  We're going to the same high school now and we're both Sophomores.  Our birthdays are 5 days apart both in December!  Mine is the 25th (Christmas!!! which is amazing by the way). and hers is the 30th, New Years Day!  She gets on my nerves sometimes, but I'll always love my Ivy!

Surprisingly I have more than one friend. Who knew?!  Primrose is our "hopeless romantic" friend.  She loves all of the Nicholas Sparks rom-com movies and books, and you will usually find her writing poetry or looking up deep quotes on Pinterest.  Her Kringle-o-meter is about a 5, meaning she likes Christmas as much as a normal person.  She loves Elf too but not as much as me obviously.  Ivy and I met her in 7th grade, and she definitely completed our friend group.  One awesome thing about Rosie (which is what we call her for short) is that she has an amazinggggggg singing voice!  I could honestly listen to her sing all day.    I found out she has the most beautiful voice everrrrr at our 8th-grade talent show.  She sang "Style" by Taylor Swift and the crowd went wild.  She had such a passion that I had never seen in her before.  She was always really shy in 7th grade, and it was so cool to see her come out of her shell!  Since we go to the same high school, I've been helping Rosie with shyness lately.  Even though she came out of her shell during the talent show, she is still shy at school.  When she's around us she can not keep her mouth shut, but around others, she kind of shuts down.  Even though she's more reserved,  I definitely wouldn't be who I am today without her!

Well that's a bit about me!  Have a holly jolly day!

HELLO EVERYONE!!! I'm back and I'm so excited to be writing again!  Christmas stories are so much fun so I decided to try it.  I am so sorry about all the parts about trashing Broadway!!!  If you know me, you know that I love Broadway/musical theatre so let me tell you, those parts were so hard to write.  Please don't hate me.  (It's essential to the character of Holly.)

Also I'm so so sorry that I didn't finish my last story!  I just wasn't liking how it was going and I wasn't feeling any inspiration.  I promise this one will get finished eventually!

🎄 Christmas Question of the Day: What is your favorite Christmas song?

🎁 Bonus Question:  Do you relate to Holly, Ivy, or Primrose more and why? (I'm curious)
