I follow David across camp until we walk past the yellow camp building.

“Where are we going?” I ask.

“To choose your weapon, remember?”

“But it doesn’t look like it’s in camp.”

“Great observation, Dawn; it isn’t.” David turns around and smiles. “Come and see. I’m going to say a few magic words and we’ll be taken to the weapon room in Canadian border of Alaska which isn’t too far away from here.”

“Then, where are we then?” I ask.

David says in his intelligent sounding voice, “We are in northern Oregon. That’s why there’s so much forest here.”

“Yeah, Canada isn’t too far from here.”

David stops as we enter the forest. We’re about twenty feet inside and he goes towards the right. I follow him of course; I don’t want to get lost. The brit. dressed in black and white stops at a small pond that is crystal clear with light green vines growing from tree to tree. The pond is probably about one hundred feet in diameter.  There is a tiny island-thing in the middle that is about twenty-five feet in diameter. About ten little rocks stick out of the water in the form of stepping stones to lead us to the middle.

David steps on them to go to the island. He doesn’t need to jump; he has really long legs because he’s about six feet tall. When he gets to the island, David gestures to me, “Dawn, come over here,”

I follow him while hopping from stone to stone. When I finally get to the island, David walks over to the middle of the island and asks for me to come over to him. I nod and stand next to him.

“Okay, Dawn. I’m going to say a teleportation spell and you’re going to hold my hand so we teleport together, got it?” instructs David.

“I got it.” I reply. I grab my head and he gives me an approving nod.

“Ianuae Magicae ad locum!” he chants. He then says the same thing two more times. That is when the weird thing happens; the island starts to spin.

David looks over at me and says three words, “Hold your breath.”

I understand why he says that. The island starts to sink into the pond and sucks us down into the bottom. Then, the ground opens up in a hole that’s about five feet in diameter. A light shines through the hole and we swim down.

I guess this portal-looking thing is a wormhole or something because when David and I both are fully in the tunnel, we pop out in a room. As soon as we are basically thrown out of the portal, it closes.

The room is pretty modern looking. It has a white tile floor and the walls are a dark navy blue. The walls have weapons covering it.

I see swords, daggers, bows along with arrows, nunchucks, big Thor hammers, and other weapons that I don't even know how to describe.

David and I walk around for a minute until I see this old silver sword. It is definitely not new. It is dull with a skinny blade. I pick it up and swish it around. It's actually pretty heavy but, it is solid silver from who knows what century.

I pick up a few daggers and try them out. They feel right but then, I start thinking about battling and my reach with just a knife. It's not that far. So, I decide not to use that weapon.

I try out a pair of nunchucks. That didn't turn out well. Let's just say, that I swing them around and then end up hitting myself in the stomach along with David's legs... It's a good thing I didn't choose the nunchucks as my weapon.

I walk around more and then I spot something out of the corner of my eyes. It's big and silver. I turn to see it and it just happens to be a scythe. I've seen one and how to use it on this foreign show that I watch.

This scythe is beautiful. It's silver body is as shiny as if it was made yesterday. I go and grab the hilt with both hands. It feels sturdy and just my size. With the blade, the scythe is about seven feet tall.

I look down at the hilt and it has the word Quo engraved in a fancy cursive font with floral designs all up and down the silver stem. I actually pick up the scythe this time to feel how it would in combat.

It feels great! My fingers wrap perfectly around the hilt and the blade is balanced with perfection.

I grab the scythe with one hand and stand it up next to me, "David, I think I found my weapon."
