Darkness fills the heavens
A lull drifts over nature
The world is silent
The world is asleep
Yet I am still awake
Wasting away into the
Midnight hour,
The wee hours,
The witching hour
Thoughts and fears
Flitting throughout my mind
Unable to be put to rest
Doubts and regrets seep into the sleeping hour
Like mental caffeine
Sent to purposely keep me from drifting
Twitches and tossing about are
Every night occurrences
More are the hours of wondering
Than ever the minutes of peaceful sleep
It has come to be routine by now
I don't realize how much I miss being dormant
Until I experience it again
Insomnia is my weakness
My struggle
The war inside myself
That no one knows I have
Since I look as normal as I can
Every single day
