"The true casualties of war are the people who live during the battles, but have no part fighting in them.
They are grounded in the middle
of a war they never started,
stuck because of others' hatred.
They fight everyday to be able to have hope.
They survive everday in society,
not knowing when their last breath will be,
yet they toil on.

War is a destroyer
of families, nations, peace.
War is heartless.
It is desolate,
And has no love in it.

War is not heroic.
It is not a sign of bravery.
It is pure destruction.

War takes everything from the true casualties.
They lose their lives,
their families,
The only hope they have.

They do not want to just survive,
They want to live.
Peacefully with all."

The bone weary old man removes his glasses,
folds his weathered hands,
closes his eyes and sighs.
Then he continues to state,

"I want the future generations
to live in peace;
to love their brothers around the world.
I do not want hatred
prowling about the dark corners of their minds.
But how will they have that life
if we cannot fix the
hatred and war in
Today's modern society
That we live in."
